President Donald Trump's military parade is estimated to cost $92 million, according to a U.S. defense official with firsthand knowledge of the assessment.

President Donald Trump's military parade this fall is shaping up to cost $80 million more than initially estimated.
The Department of Defense and its interagency partners have updated their perspective cost estimates for the parade, according to a U.S. defense official with firsthand knowledge of the assessment. The official spoke on the condition of anonymity.
The parade, slated for Nov. 10, is estimated to cost $92 million, the official said. The figure consists of $50 million from the Pentagon and $42 million from interagency partners such as the Department of Homeland Security. An initial estimate last month (https://www.militarytimes.com/news/your-military/2018/07/18/initial-cost-for-trump-military-parade-comes-in-at-12-million-dod-says/) pegged the prospective cost for the parade at $12 million.

A Pentagon spokesman said in an email to CNBC that the Defense Department expects to make an announcement soon, but he would not comment further. The White House referred questions to the Defense Department.
The $92 million cost estimate includes security, transportation of parade assets, aircraft, as well as temporary duty for troops. The official also noted that while the size and scope of the military parade can still shift, the plans currently include approximately eight tanks, as well as other armored vehicles, including Bradleys, Strykers and M113s.

That accusation is silly. It's your assumption presented as fact.

As to the homeless, I agree that people can do things to help them like you suggest, however that doesn't fix the problem, it only helps them temporarily. Individuals don't have the resources to reduce homelessness that local, state and federal governments do.

Some issues and problems require more than just individual gestures. Drunk driving is better addressed by law enforcement than me going down to bars looking for drunk people with car keys.

...but I do concede that some liberals who ignore the homeless guy are hypocrites. People should do more on their own but rarely do.

Trump's military parade is now estimated to cost $92 million – $80 million more than earlier estimate

President Donald Trump's military parade is estimated to cost $92 million, according to a U.S. defense official with firsthand knowledge of the assessment.
An earlier estimate pegged the cost at $12 million.
The parade is scheduled to take place in the nation's capital on Nov. 10 and will feature armored vehicles, aircraft flyovers and period uniforms.

I wouldn't hold your breath. ;)

Do you honestly think liberal people don't laugh or have a sense of humour? That's gotta be one of the nuttiest things I've read here. Most comedians are liberals. Most comedies are made by and for liberals. Then there's the fact that most humans like to laugh.

Plus I'm funny as shit...

Except that liberal comedians aren't funny anymore; they are just spiteful nasty Trump-bashers.

Sorry, Tahuyaman; I didn't see your post saying the exact same thing until after I posted.

Today, just being insulting, foul and obscene is supposed to be funny.

Much of this thread (at least for Tahuyaman's part) has been dedicated to some pretty absurd propositions. It's ridiculous to suggest that each individual with a place to live take in boarders to eliminate homelessness. That's not only a highly disruptive solution (most homeless people don't want to feel like a burden to others), it's not even a viable one, as many more middle class households belong to that station in life only marginally and cannot afford to provide for more people than they already are. And even if they all could, do you really think that being a boarder is what homeless people want anyway? No, what people really want is a place of their own! Not necessarily always a place that they have exclusive ownership of, but certainly a space that is reasonably private, wherein actual residency is not shared with others. That somehow Tahuyaman apparently does not realize any of this is a reflection of just how far intellectually divorced he is from life under such conditions as homelessness and poverty, or even an ordinary middle class existence for that matter.

The fact is that homelessness is a problem of a scale that requires societal action through collective investment, not one that private individuals acting separately can solve on their own.

societal action through collective investment

So, how much MORE collective investment do they need? Billions? Trillions? Is there no limit?

The first time?

He's been trying since the late 80s. I think the first real run was as a reform candidate in 2000.

He got something like 9000 votes total. Lol.

But he probably declared it a "great victory".

If he got 9,000 votes, that’s 8,999 more than you could get.

What’s “collective investment”? Another way to describe confiscatory taxation?

Sometimes I have some major labor intensive chores to be accomplished on my property. I have occasionally stopped and told the guy holding a sign which says “will work for food” and told him that I’ve got some work for him and I’ll feed him and pay him too. Every time, they’ve come up with some lame excuse to avoid the work part.

Doubt anyone in the DOD came up with that number. Probably some reporter figuring out how much it would cost to use a tank as an Uber vehicle.

The DC government came up with this number. Anyone who believes that is the true cost for a military parade is stupid as a pile of shit. That has already cooled off.

Oh! Clearly not enough to bother about then. $12m wouldn't feed the Trump clan for a week. Never mind. Onto the next embezellment of taxpayers money.

Liberals have never been shy about spending money. They are willing to spend any amount on illegal immigrants. You ought to know- oh, wait. Pretty Boy backed off. Go Canada!

This is just a liberal rant. You offer no solution and no clue as to the size of the problem. You don't say who should be helped and who has chosen this life style. Yes, I said chosen. You need to edit this one.

No . Neither did the pres and vp BOTH need to make a recent trip to Fort Drum. The government could take spending prudence lessons from a teenage girl with mommy and daddy's credit card on a school shopping spree!
