WASHINGTON — The deputy attorney general, Rod J. Rosenstein, suggested last year that he secretly record President Trump in the White House to expose the chaos consuming the administration, and he discussed recruiting cabinet members to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Mr. Trump from office for being unfit.
Mr. Rosenstein made these suggestions in the spring of 2017 when Mr. Trump’s firing of James B. Comey as F.B.I. director (https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/09/us/politics/james-comey-fired-fbi.html) plunged the White House into turmoil. Over the ensuing days, the president divulged (https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/16/world/middleeast/israel-trump-classified-intelligence-russia.html) classified intelligence to Russians in the Oval Office, and revelations emerged that Mr. Trump had asked Mr. Comey to pledge loyalty (https://www.google.com/search?q=trump+asked+comey+for+loyalty&oq=trump+asked+comey+for+loyalty&aqs=chrome..69i57.4301j0j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8) and end an investigation (https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/16/us/politics/james-comey-trump-flynn-russia-investigation.html) into a senior aide.
Mr. Rosenstein was just two weeks into his job. He had begun overseeing the Russia investigation and played a key role in the president’s dismissal of Mr. Comey by writing a memo (https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/09/us/politics/comey-fbi-memo-rod-rosenstein.html) critical of his handling of the Hillary Clinton email investigation. But Mr. Rosenstein was caught off guard when Mr. Trump cited the memo in the firing, and he began telling people that he feared he had been used (https://www.nytimes.com/2018/06/29/us/politics/rod-rosenstein-comey-firing.html).
Mr. Rosenstein made the remarks about secretly recording Mr. Trump and about the 25th Amendment in meetings and conversations with other Justice Department and F.B.I. officials. Several people described the episodes, insisting on anonymity to discuss internal deliberations. The people were briefed either on the events themselves or on memos written by F.B.I. officials, including Andrew G. McCabe, then the acting bureau director, that documented Mr. Rosenstein’s actions and comments.

Sorry, almost a year ago.

All around DC you hear the whispers and there's more and more every day. Republicans and Democrats. It's the talk of State and from what I hear even more so at Defense and The Pentagon. Thanks to the bipolar tweets and declarations of our President, the 25th Amendment has become the talk of the town.

The tools are in place and the votes are counted within the Cabinet to insure the removal of the president swiftly when the time comes. And he knows it, hence the increasingly dangerous rhetoric.

Enjoy the calm before the storm.

Rosenstein; “The New York Times’s story is inaccurate and factually incorrect,”“I will not further comment on a story based on anonymous sources who are obviously biased against the department and are advancing their own personal agenda. But let me be clear about this: Based on my personal dealings with the president, there is no basis to invoke the 25th Amendment.”

Rosenstein should be fired immediately

Rosenstein should still be fired, what he says publically and what hes really done can be two very different things, his actions from the start show hes been against the president.

I clicked on the thread to learn who Rose Stein was and when did Clinton grope her...

...after all, those complaints would be only 20 years old or so, not 36...

...no I learn it's just a story about some hack traitor embedded in the Department of Justice.

It's a lie by McCabe. Think about it, if you can. The 25th Amendment can only be invoked by the Cabinet. He isn't one of them. You people really do buy anything.

You know you've got a great president when various members of his own cabinet and appointed officials of the same party, are willing to break laws, risk their jobs and manage their boss simply to protect the country from his irrationality, ignorance and incompetence.
