It would explain why so many would vote for a Barack Obama.

http://www.marketwatch.com/story/why-us-might-be-a-nation-of-deadbeats-2013-01-15

President Obama said on Monday that “we are not a nation of deadbeats,” but instead a people who “pay our bills.”Really?
A close look at the data reveals a very different story — and one that gets far too little airing in public discourse.
Far from paying our bills, the current generation of Americans — or some of them — have set records for default which probably have no parallel in the history of the human race. During the last five years, U.S. individuals have walked away from a staggering $585 billion in mortgages, credit card debts and other personal loans. That works out at about $6,000 per household.

I think that . . .*sigh*, Mr. Obama is referring to national debt.

We have a government of DEADBEATS making zillions of dollars, yet we want to blame Mama Welfare raking in that 79 bucks a week.

It is simply a matter of degree. The mentality and moral corruption is shared by big and little thieves alike.

And the point here is that Obama's cavalier attitude about debt is shared by all too many Americans. Did you miss that?

excellent point, maine. EXCELLENT POINT!

What I wanted to add to my previous posting about Mr. O referring to national debt is the though some deadbeat dads and deadbeat moms are caught and eventually must pay support to their children, government does not have any to force it to pay its debts so who ends up paying for governmental expenditures is "We the People" through taxation?
I take issue with this because most of what government spends money on never comes to a vote by "We the People", not even through general elections.

For some reason, I keep hearing echoes pf "The Battle of Athens".

No, I did not miss the point. I simply did not add the point in the first post. It was submitted as an "off the cuff" remark but then I realized that people might not grasp the pun.

Would you please provide references to my posts here where I laud and support the banksters and wall street crooks?

Good luck.

Not to worry Alif, by the time Obama leaves, the debt will be so large as to simply be unpayable. Default will be the only way out.

Of course, we could elect another Obama and he could finish the job by setting off Weimar-style inflation. That seems to be what liberals want, since they support the money printing that inevitably leads to that end. And we all know how well Weimar turned out for Germany and the world, don't we?

As long as you know corporate welfare dwarfs domestic welfare, I'm cool. Look it up yourself.

Once again....

About $59 (http://www.downsizinggovernment.org/hud/public-housing-and-rental-subsidies) billion is spent on traditional social welfare programs. $92 (http://www.cato.org/pub_display.php?pub_id=8230) billion is spent on corporate subsidies. So, the government spent 50% more on corporate welfare than it did on food stamps and housing assistance in 2006.

You're on your own - I've done my homework.

No you would be on your own, I have substaiciated my position you are trying to tell me that I need to take your word for it. (Trust me)

So I have to assume that you can't back up your position with facts.

Hear is a hint, You are correct, corporate welfare is more expensive, not by much, but if you do your homework, then you will see that it is Obama's giveaways that have made it more expensive! not that of GWB

Congratulations! Your socialist president isn't quite as bad as the socialist who is currently president. Bonus points for you!

No one who knows you would make such a claim.

If we define dead beats as anyone who takes without giving then banksters and wall street crooks are among them. Corporate welfare is little different from social welfare.

You have to lower the discussion bar when chatting with deadbeats . Nothing too tricky . They hate people laughing at them.
