View Full Version : What is The Point Of Gun Registration…

…if the ultimate goal is not confiscation?

Registration is a necessary intermediate step that enables government to confiscate guns. First you locate them , then you kick in the door at # A.M. and take them.

Without confiscation, registration is an empty gesture, merely creating a data base that is of no earthly use.

Any call for registration of guns or gun owners is a not-so-subtle hint that confiscation is the ultimate goal. And after confiscation comes the gulag.

It creates a lot of pointless jobs for liberal deadbeats and it sets up everyone with a gun for a Randy Weaver-type sting.

You need to "register" or go through background checks, just like you'd expect folks to be checked before boarding the plane you are on.

DUH....

A privilege and a right are two different things.

Perfect two examples we had in the world that were USSR and Nazi Germany. Guns were registered and then confiscated for public safety ; to wit : that citizens were not able to resist regimes of Stalin and Hitler.

Cigar there's no need to prove your stupidity on this subject.

Most know the difference between a "Right" and a "Privilege".

Cars are registered for tax purposes. Not a good analogy.

Apparently few liberals recognize the difference, in fact most reverse them.

Yep, that's all it is! Cops don't need them to chase down stolen vehicles, run background checks for traffic stops, investigation reasons, etc. They just depend on their dogs for that.

So you'll be proving us where in the constitution AKs and ARs are covered.

Take your time ...

"keep and bear arms" 2nd Amendment.

Now Cigar, show me in the Constitution where "arms" precludes AK's and AR's ??

BTW no time needed, it's all right there.

What has that to do with my comment on cigar's poor analogy? Context is important.

Section 4, Clause 2, Amendment 22 of the Limbaugh Playbook.

And besides second amendment, the 9th and 10th.

It has everything to do with it. Tax purposes? Sheeettttt........... That may be the last thing cars are registered for. Tell you what, you go tell a cop your not licensed nor registered, then get in your car and try and drive away. They're not going to say - "Well go right ahead as long as you prove your car taxes are paid." Try it and report back.

Again, what has that to do with my comment in the context of cigar's? He was trying to create an analogy between cars registration and gun registration. No one's arguing there aren't similarities such as identification. But his analogy fails because cars are registered for taxation and guns are not. Your histrionics aren't impressive.

Never actually saw anyone call in a background check have you, They tell them that you are buying a long gun or a pistol, and the file remains in the gun shop never goes to the federal government,

At least that is how it works in MI.

It doesn't, same with a car.

It makes the government feel better, to know, that should it be necessary, they can use a smaller special op army, to disarm the larger population, most likely in a covert operation, while most of them are sleeping.

I have not seen any proposal that takes away the right of the people to own a gun.
Or any proposal that exceeds laws already in place in several states. Without constitutional challenge.

The same SOCIALIST! idiocy that has Republicans overheating about the executive orders. Obviously, without actually having read them.

Hmmm...better record keeping and background checks to keep guns out of the hands of criminals, federal gun safety studies and awareness programs, and oh yeah, incentives for schools to hire security officers and formulate emergency response plans.

Man, who do you think you are King Obama?
