Vice President Pence maintained in an interview with Hill.TV on Friday that Republicans will keep control of the House in next week's midterm elections.

"I think we're going to expand our majority in the United States Senate, and I think we're going to hold our Republican majority in the House of Representatives," Pence told Hill.TV's Buck Sexton.

"But that being said, there is certainly common ground in areas that we can work that the president has laid out," Pence added when asked about working with Democrats if they win the House, citing issues like trade and infrastructure.

"I think there's a broad range of areas that we'll be able to work with that Democrat minority in the House and the Senate, and we'll continue to reach out to do that.".....snip~

Never trust polls unless it's the one conducted on election day; case in point the 1948 elections. Dewey was heavily favored to win by a huge margin according to the polls. Election day arrives and Truman defeats Dewey in what is considered the biggest election upset in history.

Pence says what he is supposed to say as a politician and party leader. Pretty standard.

Reality is that GOP is very likely to lose the HoR. And GOP is also likely to hold (and possibly increase their advantage) in the Senate.

Guess we'll all know the outcome in a few days....

There are 37 House races in question. 31 of them are retiring Republican seats in usually Republican districts. Six of the seats are held by Democrats.

Republicans will keep the House and add seats.

Yeah, but Polling doesn't count for 40 % of the blacks giving Trump and the Repubs Support. Nor does it count all the people from #Walkaway. Nor the Millennials that told the Demos don't expect them to show up for the vote.

Lastly it doesn't include the Demos only matching their 2014 numbers for voter turnout.

I disagree but I have to admit you were right the last election and I was wrong and I am historically bad at predicting elections. This election however even the standard sites that lean right are saying the house is lost.

Nate Silver who is probably the most accurate predictor says 86% the dems take the house and 14% they take the senate.

I HOPE sincerely that I am dead wrong once again.

It's really difficult to make a prediction on this. The media is in full blown campaign mode for the Democrats hoping that they can suppress the Republican or conservative vote. There are signs that this tactic is not working in most parts of the country.

I'm absolutely certain that in my home state the Democratic senator up for reelection will retain her seat. But I'm sure that is expected by every political analyst nation wide.

Poll: Interest in Midterms Lags For Key Democrat Voting Blocs (Young Voters, Independents, Non-white Voters)
Sunday, September 23, 2018 at 8:00pm

Oddly, however, the Democrats’ key demographics just aren’t that into the Socialist Democrats or Democratic Socialists. They seem to be using the terms interchangeably, as if they meant the same thing. If there were ever two words in any of their forms that don’t go together, “democrat/ic” and “socialist” are top contenders.

Anyway, a recent NBC/WSJ poll shows that voter enthusiasm levels amongst key demographics typically associated with (D) votes is particularly troubling, as is the uptick in GOP voter enthusiasm.

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DnyGW2XXgAA_cg_.jpg

I get voting on principle, but I also get reality. Our reality today is that 2018 midterms are not about party, ideology, or even policy, and they certainly are not about “sending a message” to the GOP or to anyone else (newsflash: they aren’t listening to such messages and never have/never will)…..snip~

Democrats Are Losing Millennial Support They Need to Win Midterms, New Poll Suggests....

Millennials may not be as loyal to the Democrats as previously thought—and it could hurt the party at the ballot box in November.

A Reuters/Ipsos poll (https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-election-millennials/exclusive-democrats-lose-ground-with-millennials-reuters-ipsos-poll-idUSKBN1I10YH?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=Social) released Monday found that support among voters ages 18 to 34 has fallen by roughly 9 percentage points over the last two years. That means just 46 percent of registered millennial voters now identify with the Democrats, as compared to 2016, when the majority of the voting bloc backed the party.

Though an overwhelming two-thirds of the poll's 16,000 respondents said they don't like President Donald Trump, many of these young voters are being pulled to the right by a Republican Party they see as being stronger on economic issues. Some respondents voiced support for the Republican tax legislation and the party's messaging on jobs, which they said have made a material difference in their lives under a GOP-controlled Congress.

Experts said that when it comes to party allegiance, millennials are both more fluid and more easily swayed than the generations that came before them.

"They’re not as wedded to one party," Donald Green, a political science professor at Columbia University, told Reuters. "They’re easier to convince than, say, your 50- or 60-year-olds who don’t really change their minds very often."....snip~

Pollsters have admitted that online polls are not accurate and that phone polling is down. Only in a few states the Demos have better than 2014 averages.

The Rest.....they are only matching their 2014 numbers. Early voting numbers so far show the Repubs are way ahead of the Demos.

"After 2016, but especially after Kavanaugh, Democrats should be asking whether an increasing focus on identity politics is actually enlarging their coalition. The more explicitly you target specific identities, the more likely you are to alienate the identities against which they’re implicitly framed. As Nate Cohn of the New York Times wrote in 2016, one way to think about Trump’s victory was that white working-class people started voting like a minority group — and were 40 percent of the electorate.

And one way to think about the Red Undertow is that while women make up half the electorate, so do men. If something runs up the women’s vote but threatens the other half of the country, it’s likely to be at best an electoral wash. Or worse, if some of the women in the electorate think of their brothers and fathers, husbands and sons, whose fortunes are inextricably tied to their own."

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Forty-five percent of Americans now have a favorable view of the Republican Party, a nine-point gain from last September's 36%. It is the party's most positive image since it registered 47% in January 2011, shortly after taking control of the House in the 2010 midterm elections. Forty-four percent give the Democratic Party a favorable rating.
The overall increase in the favorable image of the Republican Party is a result of a jump in the positive views of Republicans, including independents who lean toward the party. The percentage of Republicans and leaners with favorable views of their party grew from 67% last September to 85% now."

Bernie Sanders Kills the Dream: I Don't Believe in the Blue Wave....

Former presidential candidate Bernie Sanders has been hitting the campaign trail for leftist candidates all over the country this cycle, but as we get closer to Election Day, the socialist is pouring cold water on a "blue wave."

"I know a lot of people talk about this blue wave and all that stuff. I don't believe in it," Sanders said during an interview with The Hill Monday. "I happen to believe on election night you're going to find a very very close situation and maybe a handful of votes determining whether Democrats gain control of the House and that we have an entity able to stand up to Trump, or we don't."

Sanders' comment comes on the heels of new polling that shows President Trump's approval is at an all-time high (https://townhall.com/tipsheet/guybenson/2018/10/22/wow-new-nbc-poll-shows-trumps-approval-rating-at-an-alltime-high-n2530574), an indication Republicans could do better than previously estimated in the midterms.....snip~

The Demos thought they were going to take Cruz's seat. They also thought they were going to take Tennessee. Oprah shot down to Georgia to try and win that one. AZ and the States Polls has McSally up by 5 or 6. Lame Stream has it neck and Neck like Florida.

The Lame Stream is falsifying numbers or just using Demos internal polling.

Then the Early voting numbers came out and as you can see. The Leftness of the Lames and their Lame Scream media. Just aren't anywhere close. Other than in NV.

Elections are rough battles; getting balance can be and is dependent on how the voters decide what they ultimately want running the country. I personally think the democrats have a slim chance to retake the house but the Senate will be an uphill battle. I suspect that the republicans will keep the majority and quite possibly add an additional one or two seats.

Either way we will see what ultimately plays out on Tuesday.

Dems want higher taxs so they can keep giving away candy all year long, they cant say Ill give it to you for free so vote for me, if they dont raise taxs.

Those who do not work and live off the govt LOVE when they raise taxs on the rich, makes them feel like they got even. But raising taxs doesnt hit the rich like it does everyone else that just works, people that dont work dont care about that either.

The open borders is to dilute the population unseat white people as the majority and for votes. Eliminating ice facilitates that goal and speeds it up. Obamacare was part of we will give you everything for free, you dont even have to work to get healthcare, the people that work will give it to you for free with their money. Not the rich THE WORKING CLASS, seems fair huh, go to work everyday and pay for people that sell drugs for a living, take drugs for a living, sit on a stoop and drink servesa and professional crooks, mob guys and your everyday scumbag, ms13 and Illegal Aliens that wont work and free college too if you cant afford it, so those that work can pay for their own kids college and the kids of those that dont want to work.

Cool question!

Now you could be even more, fair, by asking that great question to GOP Republicans who 1)helped us all now have, higher taxes, since Trump successfully eased the tax burden on wealthy citizens and therefore increased the tax payments for us non-wealthy Americans. Let me know if you do. I'd love to know the responses. Especially, since...

2) Trump never repealed Obamacare like he promised us the GOP Congress would do, but hey, you can continue to applaud him for failing at that. :cool2:

This is actually, very untrue. And it could even be viewed as, irresponsible, when considering how many factual proofs exist on this website even plus all over the internet which verify Obama had the economy in then, astounding growth, during 2016/early 2017.

And please do not reply unless you have proof that I am incorrect about Obama uplifting the USA economy for White America, as that is a part of what he wanted his legacy to be. I would say start off, by looking at empirical numbers of mini-Macro scenarios.

Such as how many jobs Obama added to the economy for Caucasian workers, each month from Oct'16 - Feb'17, then you'll realize that Trump has been piggybacking off of that Great American Comeback which Obama launched.

The perfect response explaining why the Democrats are the enemy. You are one of their foot soldiers. You march unthinking into the abyss.

The Democrats offer nothing but more taxes, more hate and more stealing the working man/woman's money.

Obama was a boy in a man's job. Every recession has to either end with the economy going up or crashing. Obama and the Federal reserve threw 8 trillion dollars we don't actually have into the economy to bring back low-paying jobs. I could have dome that.

No one is paying a higher tax rate then they did before. No one. They might be paying more dollars because they finally earn something but they aren't paying a higher tax rate. That's what matters.

You made the statement so you show how low-paying jobs "uplift" a person. The recession ended before Obama did a thing. It ended in June, 2009 when Obama was still looking for the men's room. All he did was interfere, pick winners and losers and generally screw things up.

That pretty much covers your fake facts.

Naah, the Dems lost their majority because Obamacare went flat and because the Dems are weak. What they need is FDR leadership in these times and they can't deliver.

FDR? He took over at the bottom of the Great Depression. He ended it when Hitler went to war and we sold weapons to his enemies. Yea, a great success.

Observation, experience, just paying attention.

The agenda of the Left threatens the very foundation upon which this country was built. It dismisses and even vilifies the practices and principles that made this country the greatest in the history of the world.

Threats from outside are easy to identify and mount a defense against. Attacks from within are much more insidious. People don't see them until the damage is done.

The Left is the most dangerous enemy this nation has ever faced. If we are ever destroyed, it won't be by conquering armies. It will be from within. It will be a gradual process and it will be done with the assistance of our own people, either through complacency, indoctrination, or fear to step up and speak out.

It is true FDR did substantial long-term damage to the nation.

That would be Adolph Hitler. He went to war with people who could buy and transport our weapons. o WWII and FDR would have been a failure. I give him credit for keeping enough money floating to stop a total collapse but he didn't end the Depression.

You did not think about the fact that, although "caucasians [white] make up almost 70% of the population." They made up far, far more than 70% of the Americans, I repeat, Americans allowed to benefit from FDR social programs. By which, making FDR historic, for launching social programs which uplifted Whites onto the stairs to soon climb into new phenomena back then, called "status quo's middle class" no doubt indeed.

We know of it by its household name, White Privilege.
