Hunting Show Stands Up To NRA By Banning Assault Rifles At Event

In Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, one group of responsible gun owners is taking a stand against the NRA. The Eastern Sports & Outdoor Show, in the wake of the tragic events at Sandy Hook, decided not to feature certain weapons at the event, including assault rifles.

This is their statement on their move:

As a hunting-focused event, we welcome exhibitors who wish to showcase products and firearms that serve the traditional needs of the sport. Clearly, we strongly support the 2nd Amendment. However, this year we have made the decision not to include certain products that in the current climate may attract negative attention that would distract from the strong focus on hunting and fishing at this family-oriented event and possibly disrupt the broader positive experience of our guests.

This set off an angry reaction by the NRA, which decided to pull out of the event altogether. :angry4:

Didn't you post this once before?

And what is the problem a private citizen exercised it's rights to put restrictions on the show and the NRA decided to exercise it's right to participate.

It would be interesting to see what the turn out to the show was?

And either way people exercising there freedom and liberty is a good thing, I am sure that some people went to the show becasue of this and some people did not because of this. And that is great free enterprize at work!

That's funny, this thread and your previous thread has the same quotes;

"As a hunting-focused event, we welcome exhibitors who wish to showcase products and firearms that serve the traditional needs of the sport," Several said. "Clearly, we strongly support the Second Amendment."

Sorry Cigar it's the same subject from different sources.

So exactly what's the interest if it's not Hunting and Fishing

OH I know,

How about the gun show owners banning legal guns,

not to mention enough vendors pulled out and potential customers said piss off

that the show became unprofitable.

Yeah, many of us protested and applied pressure to the sponsors and vendors, and managed to shut the entire show down. You shouldn't wake the sleeping tiger...

The Democrats will soon be saying that about gun owners.
