View Full Version : DNC says no debates on Fox News

The DNC has announced that they will not conduct any debates with Fox News journalists as a moderator. Why would they continue to do this? They are missing an opportunity to reach a wider audience and address issues which will be ignored by other debate moderators.

They are shooting them self in foot.

Why should they give the shills at Fox an economic windfall?

Fox is just state TV for Trumplings anyway. Fuck em.

The Fox News debate moderators do have a history of asking hardball questions and not accepting non responsive answers. This disturbs the hacks on both sides.

During the Republican debates, Wallace was tough on them. Democrats don't want to face that. They want only friendly softballs lobbed at them.

Not a bright move by the hard left. FOX moderators do a better job than most. Notice how the right gets pissed off at them after GOP debates.

Which Dem voters do you think they'll lose from this? The ones with dead batteries in their remotes?

The Trumplings aren't going to change what passes for their minds, so why bother?

FOX News, and I assume their audience, includes many Never Trumpers. Some are rabid enough to vote (D) as they did in 2016.

Fox Is Biased? Then How Do You Explain These Networks...

Mayer professed alarm on "Morning Joe," saying that this is "the closest we've ever had to state news in this country. ... We've really never had a whole national network like this that is ... it's incredibly close with this White House."

She said this with a straight face.

Forget the journalists who covered up President Franklin D. Roosevelt's disability, or President John F. Kennedy's debauchery. Never mind the "news" people who insisted that President Bill Clinton would never sexually harass or rape a woman. Ignore former Barack Obama strategist Ben Rhodes' boasting to The New York Times that he created an "echo chamber" in the press, and The Times' cooing, "Rhodes has become adept at ventriloquizing many people at once."

Really. Should we continue? If you insist. But wait. It gets even funnier.

So Mayer is implying that MSNBC and CNN (and the other liberal TV networks) do not have a partisan "rage-based model" that's "spinning the country in an increasingly inflamed direction"?

It's their business model! Has she been lost in the forest with Hillary Clinton?

Dear Jane Mayer and The New Yorker: Just stop it. We're all dying of laughter.....snip~

The distinction needs to be made between the actual journalists at fox like Wallace and the opinion Trump shills like Hannity. The Dems should reconsider if they can be assured it would be someone like Wallace or Behr (sp?) moderating.

“We hope the DNC will reconsider its decision to bar Chris Wallace, Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, all of whom embody the ultimate journalistic integrity and professionalism, from moderating a Democratic presidential debate. They’re the best debate team in the business and they offer candidates an important opportunity to make their case to the largest TV news audience in America, which includes many persuadable voters,” Fox News Senior Vice President Bill Sammon said in a statement.....snip~

Wallace and Beir (SP) typically do the moderating.

It would be one of the broadcasters. I wouldn't do it if it was Hannity ot Maddow or Morning Joe.

Also need some clarity/confirmation on what exactly the issue is with this DNC announcement.

Is the DNC trying to ban the Fox network from broadcasting the Democratic primary debates?? Or are they just stating that Fox will not be invited to host/moderate any of the Democratic primary debates??

Not really surprising if Fox isn't invited to moderate. Lots of bad blood with Democrats in general. But i believe there would be legal election law ramifications if the DNC tried to prevent Fox from broadcasting the events.

Am thinking the outrage over this latest DNC announcement is getting a little over-dramatized. These debates are still going to get large viewing audiences from all sides of the spectrum.

Its stating they will not be able to moderate any Demo Primary debates. The DNC chair Perez is worried about the hard questions Fox Moderators will ask Demos.
