Trump was already not complying with the Obama era executive order to report civilian casualties, he hasn't been reporting on civilian casualties since 2017, but I guess now it is official. We should have the right to know who is being killed in our name with our tax dollars. I posted a thread on this subject in June of 2018 here is the story I linked back then. https://www.denverpost.com/2018/06/01/we-should-know-how-many-civilians-die-in-u-s-strikes/

Excerpt:

US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order ending the mandatory reporting of civilian deaths from US airstrikes outside combat zones.
Rights groups criticized the removal of the Obama-era requirement, calling the move "deeply wrong and dangerous for public accountability."
Reports showed up to 117 civilian deaths from 2009 to 2016. The Trump administration did not release a 2017 report.

US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order reducing the number of civilian deaths from drones that the government must report.

Trump signed the order (https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/executive-order-revocation-reporting-requirement/) Wednesday, revoking an Obama-era requirement (https://obamawhitehouse.archives.gov/the-press-office/2016/07/01/executive-order-united-states-policy-pre-and-post-strike-measures) for the director of national intelligence to release an annual report on the number of deaths resulting from US operations in noncombat areas around the world.

I would expect it isn't easy to figure out how many civilians are killed in airstrikes, on or off the battlefield. I would not trust any of the numbers provided so far.
