Senate Republicans used the “nuclear option” Wednesday to unilaterally reduce debate time on most presidential nominees, the latest in a series of changes to the fabric of the Senate to dilute the power of the minority.

The move by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) immediately paves the way to expedite confirmations of President Donald Trump’s judicial and executive branch picks and comes amid deep GOP frustration with Democrats’ delays. Future presidents will benefit, too, though McConnell and Trump stand to gain inordinately as they seek to fill 130 District Court vacancies during the 18 months before the 2020 elections.

Two GOP senators, Mike Lee of Utah and Susan Collins of Maine, voted with Democrats to preserve the current rules.

Under the change, debate time on District Court nominees and sub-Cabinet executive nominees is slashed from 30 hours to two hours, a shift that will allow Republicans to fill dozens more vacancies over the coming months......snip~

Well whaddya know. The Repubs finally pulled the trigger and put an end to the Demos headgame. Now they can get Trumps cabinet and Judicial picks for the Circuit Courts in place. Naturally the leftness is whinging and sniveling about it. But just get them some Posh Puffs with aloe. It soothes the Burn. What say ye?

It'll most likely come back to haunt them if and when the Dems regain control of the Senate.

Democrats are self-destructing just fine all by themselves. All Republicans need to do is make sure that America is informed of the Democrat comedy as it develops in all its bizarreness, and make some kind of sense when they campaign.

IMHO.

Mike Lee has lost his mind.

It'll most likely come back to haunt them if and when the Dems regain control of the Senate.

By then almost all of the vacancies on the courts will be filled and the Rodents will have to cry.

The Rodents have been abusing the privilege of these debates to undermine a presidential election as part of their attempted coup against the American people.

So screw'em.

Actually game, its the republicans coming back to haunt the democrats, they started this and they were warned when they did it, that it could come back to bite them on the ass and now it is

Well actually this is the come back for the haunting. Since it was the Demos who had to change the rules. You know how rules don't mean anything to Demos.

Mike Lee has lost his mind.

And Collins shows how she votes with Democrats once again. McConnell should remove her from all Committee assignments. Then tell her don't expect any help from Repubs with her next election.

Tell her to run as a Democrat. We don't want you in the Republican party. You are a Democrat. Go be with your kind.

Agreed, what goes around comes around. I maintain if and when the democrats recapture the Senate (and you know at some point, no matter how long it may take, they will) the republicans will be in the shoes that the democrats are now in. That was my point.

Yes we know that is your point. Did you make that point when Reid and the Demos did it? Or were the Repubs suppose to sit back and let the Demos do it twice and not return serve? Just wait until the Demos do it again?

I most likely did. The repubs can do what they want, just like the dems will do what they want if and when they recapture the Senate.

Understand it makes no difference to me what either party does since they are both corrupt IMO; this was just an observation on my part.
