The 2020 Democratic clown car is now a bus. There are what—19 candidates running, each more insane than the next, and now we have New York City Mayor (and groundhog killer) Bill de Blasio expected to announce his 2020 candidacy next week. Billy won’t do well. He won’t be nominated. He will never be president of the United States, but it could be a couple of weeks of more left-wing insanity that would be popcorn worthy. Mayor de Blasio is expected to announce he’s running for president next week, according to three sources with knowledge of the plans.

The 2020 announcement could come as early as de Blasio’s birthday on Wednesday, when he’ll turn 58, said one source. The kickoff was initially expected this week but pushed back, according to another source.

De Blasio’s federal political action committee, Fairness PAC, recently polled Iowa voters. The PAC also bankrolled the mayor’s recent travel to key early voting primary states, including trips to Nevada, Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina.

If he looks at history, he'll find that no NYC mayor has ever run for president and won. The closest was Al Smith who was the democrats choice back in 1928 and lost the election. De Blasio is way too extreme even for most democrats; he won't last long in the race.

Bloomberg should have been a shining example for him. Bloomberg was going to run this time and then caught wind about how many Demos would be running and bailed immediately.

Bloomberg is a successful businessman and quickly understood what it would cost and what the results would have likely been. De Blasio is all about ego and nothing else; he brings nothing to the table except very extreme ideas which most people would reject out of hand. He should do himself a favor and reconsider running and focus on finishing out his term of office as Mayor.
