That's excellent! One of our biggest problems was the catch-and-release program that allowed asylum-seekers to remain in the US until their cases were heard. The majority never showed up for court -- just remained here illegally.

This is good news, indeed.

But, they can still seek asylum

They still can come in illegally

What's happening at the border is a sideshow and a distraction compared to legal immigration

So another victory for Trump in the court. That aught to tick off the leftness huh? Another one of their headgames brought to an end.

Remind us what a President can do about legal immigration, again.

No its not.

The Administration is about to announce their proposed immigration reform. I predict you will blow a gasket.

The CBP place almost 200,000 illegal alien families in communities across the States. I sure hope they all went to five very blue districts.

You can tell the leftness couldn't handle Trump getting another win in the Courts. Even worse was it being the 9th. That must have really put our resident lefties into depression.

So all they could do is run away from this one. LMAO.

Not exactly. Not even close, in fact.

There used to be a government office that assisted these people in obtaining legal representation, appearing in court, etc. While it existed, compliance was better than 90%. Unfortunately, one of the current administration's first actions was to do away with that office.

Unless I'm mistaken, some of the same members applauding this action are, in another thread, arguing that it shouldn't have been possible for the 9th Circuit to have done it.

By the way, for the record, I personally support the policy of requiring asylum seekers to remain in Mexico while their applications are processed. I would go even further and require them to apply for asylum at the American embassies in their own home countries if they are OTM (Other Than Mexican).

Yes, it appears as though my information was flawed. It also looks as if the HumanRightsFirst information is flawed, and that the number of no shows is regularly between 20% and 40%.

I agree with your idea of having them apply for asylum in their own countries when possible.
