Okay... when does the revenue from the Trump/GOP tax cuts kick in?

The U.S.’ debt is skyrocketing – and soon the country will spend more on servicing its debt than it will on national defense – and a little further out it will spend more on debt than on all nondefense discretionary programs combined.
While America’s debt has skyrocketed, low inflation and international demand for Treasury bonds has held down interest costs, but with the Federal Reserve hiking interest rates, this is expected to change.
As reported by The Wall Street Journal citing data from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), the U.S. will spend more on interest than it spends on Medicaid in 2020, in 2023 interest spending will exceed national defense spending, and by 2025 it will spend more on interest than on all nondefense discretionary programs combined.

I truly don't get it. I don't understand how it is anything other than an intentional attempt to destroy the country - or to economically enslave future generations.

Nobody has the political will to be truthful to the American people. The Tea Party did and Mordor on the Potomac went after it with a vengeance when it messed with Mordor's money. I think that we need an austerity program. It is going to hurt. It is going to be very painful. I'm 56 - put it on my generation but lock box the fix. We can do it voluntarily and manage it or we can do it during a crash but it'll be done.

No. The tax cuts are necessary. They are needed to restart the economic engines the Rodents deliberately stalled and seek to deliberately shut-down again.

The tax rates have to be further reduced until they're fulfilling their purpose of generating maximum revenue as per the Laffer Curve. They're still way too high.

And now we have to cut all unconstitutional spending to restore our freedom.

Nothing can be simpler.

All we have to do is hang the Congress.

What I said was a fact. You don't understand that an increase of 3% and a decrease of 13% lowrs the total revenue. I guess math is another skill you don't have. Not only seek help but go back and start your education where you left of- third grade.

Before going forward: What President had the Great recession to contend with the most?

George W. Bush (https://www.thebalance.com/bush-administration-economic-policies-3305556): President Bush added $5.849 trillion, the second-greatest dollar amount

Under President Obama, the national debt (https://www.thebalance.com/national-debt-under-obama-3306293) grew the most dollar-wise. He added $8.588 trillion. This 74 percent increase was the fifth-largest.

It's really pretty basic if you cut through all the talking heads and conflicting theories. Politicians lose votes for saying "you can't have that" more often than they lose votes for spending money they don't have."

Not yet. If interest rates return to their historic average interest on the debt will become our largest expenditure in the discretionary budget.
