There will be no kids for us.
Hrrmph.
In the meantime we'll keep pretending our dog is a child.

Medical issue or personal choice? That is, if you don't mind me being nosy.

Not at all. We've never tried, it's personal choice, but she's at the age now where waiting any longer would make it a medical issue (40). We had always said we didn't want kids but tonight was the most emphatic she'd been about it. I was and am pretty buzzed so who knows what I want. :D We both agree on two things: people like us are the kind of people who should have kids, and only people who really want kids should have them. Neither one of us really wants to have one (when sober ;)), so it's basically a done deal.

I guess for a woman age is a serious issue. For a guy, as long as it still works you're good to go. :D

My wife was 35 when we had #3 (aka "whoops").
I don't think it's that unusual anymore for women to give birth well into their 40's.

These days, yeah. My mom had me kinda late. I think she was 32 or 33.

Yeah? She turned 40 a couple of months ago...I dunno, I don't want to risk anything. It's a moot point since she still doesn't want them and I don't really care.
Freedom counts for a lot.

Live vicariously through your friends kids. Nice thing about that, they don't have to go home with you.

Exactly! We were talking about that...it sucks because we're not around them because of geography. I do think if we had that, it would be the perfect balance. We could play around with them and then go home to watch TV and screw around.

So what did you have for dinner?
It was a weird combo...I made an Indian veggie curry mostly with cauliflower and a few other veggies, and then for the main course seared ahi tuna with wasabi, ginger, soy and toasted sesame seeds. And a bottle of cab sauv for yours truly. I have been meaning to start a cooking / recipe thread up in this bitch but been pretty slammed with work this week.

Damn...
We've been trying to work the foodstock down since we're moving in a week or so. I made breakfast sausage and scrambled eggs.

Yeah, that's basically what the curry was. Just a bunch of veggies that were going to go if we didn't use em up.
Can't go wrong with sausage and eggs. I am going to be heading to market tomorrow and will be picking up some bacon and eggs for mornings. I haven't had a real breakfast in a while.

If anyone likes sushi or seared ahi that tuna is really easy. Just a hot oiled skillet or wok, sear it, flip it and then make the sauce afterwards for dipping. Toast the sesame seeds separately. It's easy peasy and for me and the OL who love sushi it's a couple of meals for both of us (probably four one person servings) for less than twenty bucks. You just have to make sure the fish is sushi grade.

I love seared tuna.
A couple months ago me and the wife went out to dinner. She ordered something, forgot what it was and I ordered seared tuna. She didn't like what she ordered so I traded with her. First time she had seared tuna, she loves it now.
If I get tuna to make at home, I grill it. Straight on the grill.
