Apparently the map was made in 1931. If you could enlarge it enough it gives info about FBI raids in each state.

The US was whiskey country until maybe the late 1800's when germans started mass producing beer. Around the time refrigeration became popular.

Which is odd because the best beers are drunk warm. From the time beer caused the domestication of humans* to the 20th century, it was served warm.


* I just heard the other day women are responsible for this discovery.

The issue was mass production and distribution.

There were many local breweries who basically sold their beer on site, it was more of a regional thing.

Refrigeration allowed for mass production and distribution - thanks to a guy named Busch.
