The newly appointed emergency financial manager of Detroit begins the Herculean task Monday of turning the once bustling capital of the car business back from the brink of bankruptcy.

Though Detroit still has its cultural centers, architectural gems, funky restaurants and packed sporting events downtown, the city has suffered an urban blight that has slowly eaten away at its neighborhoods.

"Detroit has become a ghost town," says Russ Wilson, who has lived in Detroit for all of his 47 years. "You can live on one block and live on a real nice block, and then the block over behind you can be so desolate and just deserted. It's horrible."

Many decades of total democrat rule, plus union domination destroyed Detroit. There's your proof dem ideology is a massive fail.

Detroit is suffering from the same affliction as may large cities.

The educations systems have failed, the welfare system has become an acceptable way of live.

People feel that they are entitled to everything with out having to put forth the effort to get it!

However, if we can keep a republican Gov and keep the 48 month lifetime cash welfare benifit plan, It will continue to see those that refuse to look for and accept work to move. Like they are doiing now.

So if we can break the chain of government dependency then and only then will Detroit befin to thrive once again!

Anybody ever been to Detroit?

It looked like a war zone in it's heyday, before it became an official war zone.
