Canceling tours of “the people’s house” saves taxpayers an estimated $18,000 (http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2013/03/06/abc_news_white_house_saves_18000_a_week_by_canceli ng_tours.html) a week, or $936,000 a year.Putting that figure in perspective, the U.S. federal government has spent more on puppets (http://www.usaspending.gov/search?form_fields=%7B%22search_term%22%3A%22puppe t%22%2C%22fyear%22%3A%5B%222010%22%2C%222012%22%2C %222011%22%2C%222009%22%5D%7D&sort_by=dollars&per_page=25) and puppetry-related expenses than it would cost to fund an entire year’s worth of White House tours.
Yes, puppets.
From 2009 to 2013, the U.S. government has spent $1,188,382 (http://www.usaspending.gov/search?form_fields=%7B%22search_term%22%3A%22puppe t%22%2C%22fyear%22%3A%5B%222010%22%2C%222012%22%2C %222011%22%2C%222009%22%2C%222013%22%5D%7D&sort_by=dollars&per_page=25) on puppetry-related expenses. Some of the expenses include puppet shows for kids on educational topics. Others include puppet-based research. In 2010, the taxpayer-funded National Science Foundation awarded the University of Central Florida a $199,754 research grant for “Efficient Control and Transmission of Digital Puppetry.”

I suppose puppetry is important, however, given that we have the perfect puppet to the one percent living there. I say perfect because while they own him, the ObamaMedia has all the ObamaFools absolutely convinced he's a man of the people. Well, at least the people who supply lavish vacations for the Potentate In Chief.

Go to dinner out and a movie instead. It stimulates the local economy.

Heck, go see a good puppet show.
