The liberals want to tell you what size soda you can buy and they want to prohibit you from buying your child a Happy Meal on his birthday but deadbeats have a god given right to spend the money they get on the dole not for food or clothing or even rent but at strip clubs.

"An attempt by Colorado lawmakers to ban welfare recipients from withdrawing their benefits at ATMs located inside strip clubs was killed by Democrats Thursday night, even though the state House’s third-ranking Democratic legislator supported the measure."

"State welfare recipients receive their benefits on debit cards that can be used for purchases just like credit cards or to withdraw cash from ATMs. Current rules already prohibit them from withdrawing money at ATMs located in liquor stores, casinos, bingo parlors and gun stores, but the strip club loophole has never been closed."

"But Democrats defeated the amendment Thursday, with the Post reporting that one lawmaker said people who live in poor areas and don’t have cars might not have a choice but to use a strip club ATM.

Tell me what you see more of when you drive through or near a welfare ghetto, liquor stores or strip clubs?

The nanny state in action.

They have spent the better part of 3 decades maiing usre that our students are stupid and think that the world owes them everything on a platter.

I can name you countless times when one of my renters was looking for just a little help to get through a ruff patch and the liberals running the welfare programs will tell them! WE CAN TAKE BETTER CARE OF YOU THAN YOUR JOB, YOU NEED TO QUIT!

The current system is designed to get more than 50% of the populations dependent on the government for a very large part of their existance.

And it is designed to take away all hope and any idea of personel responsibility and make it very clear to those that are poor or working poor that they have no chance at the american dream and that it is impossible for them to make it in this country.

That is the biggest lie that the liberals had to sell, and they did it!

This has created a voting base of un motivated, and uneducated TAKERS, that the DNC can scare into voting democrats into power for their entire lives.

Funny how they have to bring dispare to a nation to stay in power, and it is easy to see that they are very happy to bring suffering to people to keep their power base!

I saw a citation recently that noted that we are now spending $80 billion on food stamps, 4 billion of which is buying soda pop.

Naw, no waste and stupidity in these government programs. Move on.

If we could ever get to the bottom of welfare fraud it would stagger the mind. Once they get past 50% the rest of us can go ahead and quit and see how well they can do on no income. It is sickening to see what our country has become in the past few years.

As I posted last week..
The federal government spends more money each year on cash payments for disabled former workers than it spends on food stamps and welfare combined. Yet people relying on disability payments are often overlooked in discussions of the social safety net. The vast majority of people on federal disability do not work.[1] (http://apps.npr.org/unfit-for-work/#footnote) Yet because they are not technically part of the labor force, they are not counted among the unemployed. http://apps.npr.org/unfit-for-work/ And while this happens we look the other way. Another entitlement that we can't touch.

Completely bizarre that they would ban the use in all of the listed places but not strip clubs. That doesn't make sense, regardless of political orientation.

I suspect the ban for liquor stores, casinos, bingo parlors and gun stores was passed before the Democrats had the votes to stop it. Those places have been banned for some time. An attempt to add strip clubs to the list was defeated by the liberals.

Could be. Although, to be fair, if someone is determined to bet/gamble, drink or hang out at a strip club all it takes is to go next door or across the street to take money out. It's a relatively minor deterrent in the grand scheme of things.

I'm somewhat unsure of how welfare works in the US in terms of requirements for getting the money. Here, you have to be looking for a job and prove it. Sometimes they'll pay for someone to go back to school and learn a trade/skill, (usually a 1 or 2 year program). It is somewhat difficult to trick the system. Student welfare (age 16 to 18) requires extremely strict guidelines, such as living in a family environment and making good grades which is closely monitored. For disability, they'll often try to find an alternative industry that accomodates a disability. If you're injured on the job, they'll almost always pay for new education automatically. True welfare recipients (adults, no injuries or disabilities) are closely followed with inspections. Yes, it's still possible to cheat your way into the system and possibly stay there but it's definitely not the norm.

Our guidelines are very loose. They are designed to expand the programs at any cost.
