At least 14 wounded in Texas college stabbing attack
Harris County authorities tell CBS Houston (http://houston.cbslocal.com/2013/04/09/several-stabbed-at-lone-star-college-life-flight-assists/) they fear there could be more victims in the Tuesday attack on the Lone Star community college system's campus in Cyprus. At least four was loaded into a medical helicopter and the campus is in lock down.

Authorities did not provide further information on the victims or whether they were students or school staff.

Alan Bernstein of the Harris County Sheriff's Office told The Associated Press authorities have one suspect in custody.
Lone Star posted an alert on its website just before 12 p.m. warning students of two armed suspects and saying one person remains at large. The alert warned people to seek shelter in a secure location.

A different Lone Star system campus was the site of a January shooting. Two people were wounded, and a 22-year-old man was charged with aggravated assault.

There would be no doubt what we'd all be talking about if a AR-15 was involved.

That would be Cypress, not Cyprus, right?

A knife doesn't get attention and is silent. Gun shots attract attention and give you less time to flee.

We should limit the length of knives to ensure there will be less chance of mortally wounding someone. Perhaps background checks will help. Definitely swords should be banned. Registering would help as well.

I am really sorry about the people who have been stabbed but it makes the point that it is the person not the tool that causes the damage. People who do this type of act will find a way. A bucket of gasoline and a match will do a lot of damage.

That's true, you've already shown that pejorative.

Here's another view;

“God protected us in our classroom,” he said. “We wish we could protect ourselves with guns and stuff. We wish that the law would let us carry guns because we’re legal adults, [to] carry guns on campus to protect ourselves. But so far all we have to rely on is God. But we would love to have God and the law on our side.”

If a person wants to use a knife, and they don't know how, it is pretty easy to win. Of course you will get cut. Get over that reality and you will be fine. Almost nobody really knows how to use a knife.
