The investment makes Soros the fourth-largest holder based on equity stakes. Pershing Square Capital Management L.P. has a 17.8 percent stake, Dodge & Cox Inc. holds a 9.2 percent stake, while State Street Corp. owns an 8.2 percent stake.
The shares of the third-largest U.S. department-store chain gained more than 5 percent to $16.30 in early trading.
On April 11, several media reports suggested the struggling company hired Blackstone Group LP (NYSE:BX (http://beforeitsnews.com/r2/?url=http://www.proactiveinvestors.com/companies/overview/1911/the-blackstone-group-1911.html)) to help it raise at least $1 billion, possibly by ....... http://beforeitsnews.com/financial-markets/2013/04/j-c-penney-climbs-as-soros-unveils-stake-2542182.html

Should Soros ever own beyond 8%, JC Penny will no longer be 'big corporation.' disassociated with any of the 'evil rich'

Men's Warehouse has better quality :)

The night we buried my Daddy, I took every coat and tie and all dress shoes I had, and we had a huge bonfire, and I burned them all.

MW would go belly up if it depended on me.

Haven't been in a JCP, Sears, Monkey Wards, etc, since the early '70s.

I am sorry I didn't get any of this thread. Soros is an evil man but who he invest with does not change my buying choices. If the value is there I buy, if not I don't.

This is exactly why the US manufacturing went to mexico first and then china!

people only wanted the best value and bought themself out of jobs! I choose not to support peole of political issues that I don not agree with with my personel spending choices!
