Thought I would start a thread clarifying some things on Social Groups. Feel free to post any questions you have, this post will just try to clarify a few key points.
What is a social group?
A social group is a way to get involved in the tPF community, take part in a discussion about a more narrow topic or interest or just find more members on the forum who share your point of view. You can create or find existing groups under the the Community tab.
Who can start a social group?
Anyone can start a social group on any topic.
How do I know if someone posts a reply to a discussion in a social group?
Members do not automatically get a notification when someone responds to a topic in a social group. If you would like to receive a notification under your Settings tab when someone creates a new post in a social group, simply go to your group, go to "Group Tools" and choose "Subscribe to this Group." Check back later to see if anyone has posted in the group's discussions in your Setting tab.
Are Social Groups moderated?
In general, the level of moderation should be determined by who creates the group. Moderators will still follow up on reports of social group posts and will take action if they are violating forum rules. Groups may not be created to harass, bully, or target members on this forum.
