In addition to signing one of the toughest new gun control laws in the nation (which includes a hand gun licensing system!), Maryland's Governor Martin O'Malley has also just signed some 250 other bills into law in what has b (http://articles.baltimoresun.com/2013-05-16/news/bs-md-gun-bill-signed-20130516_1_gun-bill-gun-law-gun-ownership)een described as the state's most productive legislative session ever. (http://articles.baltimoresun.com/2013-05-16/news/bs-md-gun-bill-signed-20130516_1_gun-bill-gun-law-gun-ownership) Among these are, as the article describes them, a "bill that would funnel $1 billion to repair and rebuild dozens of Baltimore City schools and legislation to raise the tax on gasoline for the first time since 1992", as well as "a bill that would create stricter penalties for human trafficking crimes and a capital budget that included $336 million to build schools in Maryland", among others. Furthermore, Maryland voters legalized same-sex marriage in a state referendum last November and the state also recently abolished the death penalty. Go Maryland! I proclaim ye the most exemplary state of the last year!

Their state and local taxes are oppressive, and they are sending business here to Virginia. We welcome the stronger economy Maryland is giving us.

Good, so Maryland can join all the other places with "strong gun control" that end up having more gun violence than the places where the 2nd Amendment is the rule.

Maryland lives off the Federal government. That is their tax base, all those overpaid government "workers." When the day of reckoning arrives and those fat paychecks stop coming, it will be game over for Maryland.

I lived in that miserable state for 14 years.

As we can see, oppression and over-taxation is applauded by Wanna-be Socialists. They are incapable of learning from history.

You forgot the best part. One city is already lowering the voting age so children can vote. Woohoo, that will excite the leftists.

"WASHINGTON -- One Maryland city is considering an amendment to lower its voting age to 16, which would make it home to America's youngest voters."
