Ted Cruz backers say he's 'natural born'

It seems like an obscure court case from a dusty old law book, but if Canadian-born Texas Sen. Ted Cruz decides to run for president, you're likely to hear a lot about United States vs. Wong Kim Ark.

In the 1898 case, the Supreme Court voted 6-2 to repudiate the exclusive language of the infamous Dred Scott case and create an expansive definition of the Constitution's "natural-born citizen" clause.

That's important because the Constitution requires that the president be a natural-born citizen - and Cruz was born in Calgary, Alberta, in 1970.

Cruz, who is being urged to run for president in 2016 by some conservative activists, argues that he is a natural-born citizen because his mother was an American citizen. His father, now a naturalized American, was born in Cuba.

Some folks have very short memories.

I'll bet Cruz can and will show us a real, hard certified copy of a BC. Like McCain did.

And Obama?

We're still waiting. So far what we have is an internet image that experts have analyzed and found to be altered.

That's because, as usual, you never bother to check your facts before you post.

Here you go.

Now if you analyze these images, they are obvious photocopies and do not have multiple layers and have not been electronically superimposed on a phony background page.

Thanks for asking. Let us know when Barry or whoever that is in the White House shows us the same.

McCain showed it to the Washington Post as well. I'll let you look it up.

If this is still not enough ... http://factcheck.org/2011/04/indeed-born-in-the-u-s-a/

just conciser President Obama is smarter than you ... and the FBI, CIA, DOJ and every other identification expert, other that you. :)

I say, if anyone can do that and get away with it ... is smart enough to be President :)

Now how do I know that ... because Barack Obama "IS" President of The United States ... Twice ... In-A-Row!

“This legislation has never been about one candidate,” Posey wrote. “It’s been about addressing something that’s come up at least seven times before. With its passage, this won’t be a distraction for anyone in the future.”

Too much common sense for you here?

I could give a SI** less about Obama, that arguement died several years ago and Cruz is an American citizen because of his mother. What is the next issue.

why would he show it? he was born in panama. you know that, right?

the point is the president showed his birth certificate (notwithstanding the fact that no president before him was even asked). but it doesn't matter... the birfers couldn't care less.

this president was born in hawaii. for your edification, hawaii is a state.

He was born in the juristiction of the Canal Zone.

He showed a doctored image of a BC. I understand it doesn't take much to satisfy you since all that matters is that he is leftist and black.

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if it was doctored up because Obama Sr. wasn't really his father. It doesn't matter, you got away with it, along with the multiple SS numbers and the obviously fake selective service application. Getting away with it makes it right for you, we understand that. It is called "situation ethics."

you really need to get over it.

I agree place of birth is nonsense. Citizen is important. How many American citizens were born overseas because their parents were on vacation. LOL.

So wait...a baby born to Americans while overseas isn't an American Citizen?Apparently not one that can be president - to some. The Constitution references a "natural born" citizen but doesn't define it. Some take that quite literally to mean they must be born on US soil. American parents don't seem to count to some people. Fortunately A 2011 Congressional Research Service report stated:

The weight of legal and historical authority indicates that the term "natural born" citizen would mean a person who is entitled to U.S. citizenship "by birth" or "at birth", either by being born "in" the United States and under its jurisdiction, even those born to alien parents; by being born abroad to U.S. citizen-parents; or by being born in other situations meeting legal requirements for U.S. citizenship "at birth". Such term, however, would not include a person who was not a U.S. citizen by birth or at birth, and who was thus born an "alien" required to go through the legal process of "naturalization" to become a U.S. citizen.[1]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natural-born-citizen_clause

As long as I can hold 41 on the Senate and or the House so the government does nothing I really don't care.

And if I don't it just gets me to Insolvency faster, and then we can start over once the liberals have to try and tell the public that they have made dependent on their free stuff, that they can't have it anymore!

*I*?

and who are you that you think your extremist minority view should obstruct the government?

He did say "YOU WILL GET"

I think that anything that reduces the size and scope of the government is a good thing, and so does the economy!

The best thing that has happened to the economy is the Sequester? They wre forced to slow the growht and the economy has had it's strongest growth since Obama took office!

So YES stopping government expansion is a GREAT thing!
