Turn the audio off, the guy narrating is a fucking toolbox.

"UM, that is definitely some sort of uh manufactured object, it's uh cylindrical on either side, uh it has a shape in the middle, uh I mean it definitely looks like a ship to me, uh and very obviously it's cloaked...um...this is....huh, fuh heh...this might as well be full dis-disclosure for me, uh...you know there's really absolutely no explanation for that other than uh...than some sort of ship...um, what object in space cloaks itself and doesn't appear un-until it, uh, gets hit by energy from the sun?? Pretty damn crazy lookin, um...."

Very obviously this jerk watches too much Ancient Aliens.

What a fucking idiot.

But the video is interesting nonetheless.

This was mentioned in the ancient Sanskrit texts.

Yes! I read about that. If I remember it right it translates to...

"As the cloaked spacecraft passes by the planet you call Mercury, a lunatic will gloat about it on mass-viewing network location which shall be named YouTube. Holla holla."

Of course, there's another scientifically sanctioned explanation for the curious images, though we're not certain that skeptics and UFO enthusiasts such as SiniXster will endorse it. Natalie Wolchover of Life's Little Mysteries put the question to scientists in the solar physics branch at the United States Naval Research Laboratory (http://us.lrd.yahoo.com/SIG=11c5rjhuh/EXP=1324517347/**http%3A//www.nrl.navy.mil/) (NRL). They're the people who analyze data from the Heliospheric Imager-1 (HI-1)--better known in this context as the camera that shot the footage in question.
Head NRL group scientist Russ Howard and lead ground systems engineer Nathan Rich say the mysterious object is in fact Mercury itself. And what we're seeing in the footage is the equivalent of Mercury's wake, "where the planet was on the previous day," as it travels through the solar system on its natural gravitational path:

To make the relatively faint glow of a coronal mass ejection stand out against the bright glare of space—caused by interplanetary dust and the stellar/galactic background—the NRL scientists must remove as much background light as possible. They explained that they determine what light is background light, and thus can be subtracted out, by calculating the average amount of light that entered each camera pixel on the day of the CME event and on the previous day. Light appearing in the pixels on both days is considered to be background light and is removed from the footage of the CME. The remaining light is then enhanced.....snip~

Perhaps Mr Sinister on U-Tube shoul check things out with NASA's own footage and why such was done.....

Yeah.....didnt the Enterprise hide in the Sun when they had to come back to earth to get a couple of Humpback Whales to save the future Earth?

see there it isn't anything but Kirk and the enterprise trying to get back to the 24th century.. by the way are we missing any whales ?

I remember that movie!

A big dead one washed up on beach recently, maybe that was one they borrowed?

For some reason I always remembered the one with VGER/Nomad from the TV show in the Sixties. Its where they find the satellite Voyager which had been changed and merged by some alien tech. Then when it was on the bridge of the Enterprise it hears Lt. Uhura singing. Then it scans her and wipes her mind blank. When Kirk asked why did it do that. It stated Woman was a mass of conflicting impulses.

Talk about getting women's panties in a bunch back then.

Mercury gonna transit the sun today...
:cool2:
Mercury poised for rare 'transit' across sun's face on Monday
May 08 2016 - Stargazers will have a rare opportunity on Monday to witness Mercury fly directly across the face of the sun, a sight that unfolds once every 10 years or so, as Earth and its smaller neighboring planet come into perfect alignment.

The best vantage points to observe the celestial event, known to astronomers as a transit, are eastern North America, South America, Western Europe and Africa, assuming clouds are not obscuring the sun. In those regions, the entire transit will occur during daylight hours, according to Sky and Telescope magazine. But Mercury is too small to see without high-powered binoculars or a telescope, and looking directly at the sun, even with sunglasses, could cause permanent eye damage. Fortunately NASA and astronomy organizations are providing virtual ringside seats for the show by live-streaming images of the transit in its entirety and providing expert commentary.

The 2016 Mercury planetary transit is seen in an undated NASA conceptual image. Mercury will pass between Earth and the sun in the rare astronomical event between about 7:12 a.m. and 2:42 p.m. EDT

The tiny planet, slightly larger than Earth’s moon, will start off as a small black dot on the edge of the sun at 7:12 a.m. Eastern (1112 GMT). Traveling 30 miles (48 km) a second, Mercury will take 7.5 hours to cross the face of the sun, which is about 864,300 miles (1.39 million km) in diameter, or about 109 times larger than Earth. “Unlike sunspots, which have irregular shapes and grayish borders, Mercury’s silhouette will be black and precisely round,” Sky and Telescope said in a press release. The event will come into view in the western United States after dawn, with the transit already in progress. The show will end at sunset in parts of Europe, Africa and most of Asia. NASA Television, available on the Internet, will broadcast live video and images from the orbiting Solar Dynamics Observatory and other telescopes. The show includes informal discussions with NASA scientists, who will answer questions submitted via Twitter using the hashtag #AskNASA.

Other options for armchair astronomers include:

- SkyandTelescope.com plans a live webcast with expert commentary, beginning at 7 a.m. EDT/1100 GMT.

- Slooh.com, which offers live telescope viewing via the Internet, will host a show on its website featuring images of Mercury taken by observatories around the globe.

- Europe’s Virtual Telescope, another robotic telescope network, will webcast the transit at www.virtualtelescope.eu

Scientists will take advantage of Mercury’s transit for a variety of science projects, including refining techniques to look for planets beyond the solar system. “When a planet crosses in front of the sun, it causes the sun’s brightness to dim. Scientists can measure similar brightness dips from other stars to find planets orbiting them,” NASA said. Mercury's last transit was in 2006 and the planet will pass between the sun and Earth again in 2019. After that, the next opportunity to witness the event will not come until 2032.

"As the cloaked spacecraft passes by the planet you call Mercury, a lunatic will gloat about it on mass-viewing network location which shall be named YouTube. Holla holla."

True story: One of the founders of YouTube, Jawed Karim, had been told of this ancient Vedic legend by his great grandfather, while dangling on the great grandfather's knee over a viper pit during religious instruction. He always remembered it, and that was how YouTube came to be called YouTube.
