More than one-third of likely Republican primary voters–35 percent– said they would vote for Romney, who also sought the GOP nomination in 2008. Twelve percent said they'd back Bachmann.

But support for the three-term congresswoman has increased by 8 percentage points since a well-received performance at the first CNN/WMUR/New Hampshire Union-Leader GOP primary debate and the formal announcement of her presidential bid in June.

She's got some work to do to catch up.

Yeah Romney will take Bachmann in New Nampshire.....no surprise there. What is going to be interesting is who perkins and the Heritage Foundation backs. I think Bachmann is going to have the edge in the Southern Con turf.

gotta think Bachmann will take Iowa...those are the first two, right?

Yep.....I think Bachmann beats him out in Iowa. Where Bachann will lose is out West. Plus the Midwest. Although, the Neo-Cons might play ball with her if she is in the mix at the end.

from wikipedia:

* February 6 – Confirmed date of the Iowa caucuses[12]
* February 14 – Expected date of New Hampshire primary
* February 18 – Confirmed date of the Nevada caucuses

if Romney spent heavily and worked Iowa very hard, he could actually knock Bachmann to the mat really quickly. She will have a very tough time finding money and support if she can't carry Iowa, because NH and Nevada will go for Romney almost definitely. He doesn't need to do too much in those states. He has a real opportunity to damage her campaign from the outset.

"The Des Moines Register, the largest newspaper in Iowa, ran a poll of likely GOP voters late last month and found that she was statistically tied with Mitt Romney for first place with all of the other candidates trailing by more than 10 percent."

Yeah but if she takes Iowa and South Carolina, Then Mississippi, Arkansas, Georgia, Kansas, Oklahoma. Althought that is counting if there are no others. Just those Two. I think the Neo-Cons will go with Bachman as they will get what they want.

yeah, it's going to be very interesting to see how it plays out...if romney can go 3-0 he is going to be in the driver's seat, if those first three go 2-1 then romney is going to be in trouble and have a big dogfight on his hands...wonder if it will be as draining on him as it was on mccain when he was running out of money before he had even finished securing the nomination in '08
