Bush More Popular than Obama

In a Gallup tracking poll released Tuesday, former-President George W. Bush currently stands with a favorability rating of 49% (http://www.gallup.com/poll/163022/former-president-george-bush-image-ratings-improve.aspx), compared to 46% who see the 43rd president unfavorably. Meanwhile, another Gallup poll shows President Obama with only a 47% approval rating (http://www.gallup.com/poll/113980/Gallup-Daily-Obama-Job-Approval.aspx), with 44% disapproving.

If you think about it, this makes perfect sense.
After all, Obama fooled everyone when he ran as the anti-Bush in 2008.
Everyone thought Obama meant he would be less hawkish than his predecessor. But as we have seen, Obama apparently has no problem killing American citizens via remote control with drones or greatly expanding upon Bush's surveillance state. This, even though Obama told us he had pretty much won the War on Terror.
Therefore, it appears that what Obama meant by promising to be the anti-Bush is that, unlike George W. Bush, Obama would not get us out of a recession and into many years of economic prosperity. There would also be successful terror attacks on American soil during Obama's watch and a litany of scandals unseen in almost a half-century.
Maybe the next time a former community organizer raised in a creepy church runs for president, the media will work a little harder to dig into his real agenda.

i love how it's making you all nuts that no matter how much fauxrage you toss around, you aren't affecting the presidents numbers.

It is typical that as time and memory begins to fade, President's approval ratings improve. It is all about the economy. As the economy improves, people forget what a frigin mess W left the country with.

Actually Obamas numbers have been slowly declining.

At this time in the GWB Presidency, his numbers were not that bad.

The Scandel a day is hurting him and if Obamacare is the disaster some beleive it will be that will start to take its toll.

Unless I miss my Guess and the economy takes a sharp up turn, Obama will unseat Carter as the Worst president in Modern times.

And just like Carter I do not beleive that Obama is a bad person. It is just that he can't compromize on his idology, and his liberal policies are not brining the nations out of recession fast enough

I don't think you need to worry about Barack Obama's poll numbers; because quote: 'I'm no longer just a candidate, I'm the President' 44th that is ...

I think Hillery Clinton's poll numbers are your new concern.

WhazUp boys ... do you guys ever take Vacations from political whining

Just goes to show you how stupid these presidential popularity polls are.

And how dumbed down the U.S. population is. Both of them should be about as popular as a root canal. Very likely candidates for worst presidencies in the history of the U.S. even though the competition, Harding, Wilson, FDR and Lyndon Johnson, are no pikers.

Carter was small potatoes compared to my list.

He was just ineffectual. OTOH, my bunch were/are quite effective at disastrous governing.

It is not rare that an evil leader is quite popular. Hitler was popular. President Lyndon Johnson was popular for awhile. President Abraham Lincoln is still popular. We've still got three years for people to realize what President Obama is and what kind of job he's done.

On the bright side, we don't need polls any longer. NSA can tell us what people are thinking and saying.

While people try and point out the low approval rating when he left office.... they are ignoring (or likely ignorant to) the higher "average".
