Darrell Issa has been shown to be a liar and a fraud . Why would Issa suddenly do a 360 - and start up the Benghazi investigation again - when he’s been so adamant about getting to the bottom of the so-called IRS scandal? Issa’s sudden change in witch-hunting direction may have something to do with the not-so-surprising revelation that the entire IRS debacle has been one large manufactured scandal - created by Issa himself. According to the inspector general of the Treasury Department - whose report helped drive the IRS political targeting controversy - the examination into conservative groups was limited because of a request from Republicans in the House. A spokesperson for the Treasury’s Inspector General for tax administration Russell George - said that the IG’s office was asked by Congressman Darrell Issa himself - “to narrowly focus on Tea Party organizations.”

Issa directed Treasury inspector general to ignore IRS treatment of liberal groupsThe bombshell IRS audit released in May omitted information about liberal groups at the request of House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA), according to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration’s office.

A spokesman for Treasury Inspector General J. Russell George told The Hill on Tuesday that Issa had requested investigators “narrowly focus on tea party organizations.”

The subsequent audit concluded the IRS used “inappropriate criteria” to single out for additional scrutiny tea party groups that applied for tax exempt status. The findings lead almost every politician, including President Barack Obama, to denounce the IRS. Several Republicans suggested the audit indicated the White House had a Nixonian “enemies list.”

But new documents have revealed that liberal and progressive groups received similar treatment from the IRS. The “inappropriate criteria” used to single out tea party groups — so-called “Be On the Look Out” (BOLO) memos — also singled out progressive and “Occupy” groups.

We should have known you were BSing us again:

Meanwhile, the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration’s office has continued to defend its audit of the IRS. Karen Kraushaar told the Associated Press that the inspector general was only “asked to look at the treatment of organizations known to be affiliated with the tea party in its review, and was asked to audit the way those organizations were being treated when they applied for tax-exempt status.”

House Republicans have denied (http://thehill.com/homenews/house/308095-house-republicans-deny-asking-ig-to-limit-irs-audit) they attempted to limit the audit of the IRS. They acknowledged they requested the audit based off complaints they received from tea party groups, but that should not have prevented investigators from mentioning the impact on other effected groups. A Republican aide told The Hill that the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration had “the authority to look at whatever they wanted to, and would be expected to do so if there was wrongdoing.”

That is not the same as asking the IRS employees to target the groups, which happened long before Issa asked them to focus the INVESTIGATION OF THE TARGETING.

Now, in point of fact, the IG looked at the whole thing and found six progressive groups got BOLO, none got the intrusive and hostile letters and inquiries, versus 292 conservative groups that got BOLO and a lot of them got a lot more than that.

There's a separate thread on this which you apparently didn't bother to read or understand. IG George is quoted copiously there.

And we're still waiting for those links to progressive groups who have filed complaints for being targeted by the IRS. Oh, and don't forget the link to the class action law suit they filed.

Cigar, when are you going to learn that you can't sandbag this group? We are a whole lot smarter than you and a whole lot better at looking things up.

THREAD FAIL

Where's your smoking gun, genius?

Where's your evidence that IG George actually did not look at targeting of liberal groups?

Where are the liberal groups?

Try again.
