An interesting article from Real Clear Science (http://www.realclearscience.com/articles/2013/07/08/climate_change_isnt_worlds_biggest_problem_106585. html)- it shows that climate change is low on the list of real issues affecting people.

It’s particularly trendy among politicians and members of the media to be worried about climate change. When President Obama recently spoke before a crowd in Berlin, he said (http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2013/jun/19/barack-obama-berlin-speech-full-text) that climate change “is the global threat of our time.”

But that’s not true. Just a cursory glance around the world reveals that, given the enormous problems facing our planet, it would be surprising if climate change cracked a list of the top 10 immediate concerns.

In fact, microbiologists in particular would disagree that climate change is the world’s #1 threat. Instead, their biggest fear is the terrifying rise of multi-drug resistant bacteria, as well as the ever-present threat of deadly viruses going pandemic, such as influenza and MERS.

You just can't make political hay out of multi-drug resistant bacteria I guess.

I'd say that the problem is that most people with a brain would agree that something is going on and there is a diverse change in weather. Those in Washington want to play it into a man made thing instead of something natural that happens from time to time. That way they can get pork for their special interest groups and more money for re-election. Not to mention bilking us out of billions for new products that meet their new guidlines.
