Pass a law that will increase taxes on the poor (defined as including an income of $67,000 per year) while decreasing taxes on the Wealthy.

And what will North Carolina do to close the estimated $2 Billion budget shortfall over the next 5 years? Why, cut services for the poor of course.

The state’s tax system already favors the wealthiest, as the bottom 80 percent pay between 9 and 10 percent of their income in combined sales and income taxes compared to just 6.5 percent for the top one percent of earners. The plan passed Tuesday would exacerbate that inequity.

Super. Ask where all this income inequality is coming from and Republicans tell you "computers" (while laughing hysterically.)

--

Wait, won't the poor people be upset about all this, and make their voices known in the voting booth?

Redistricting and voter ID laws, suckers!

$67,000 is poor in NC? For what? A family of 12?

What the hell's it got to do with tea parties? Why inflame so many threads with that?

What this is is a problem with the big government you favor.

Here's the Dem version: http://myfox8.com/2013/07/16/tax-reform-bill-passes-nc-house-and-senate/

And the Rep version: http://www.journalnow.com/news/state_region/article_bae3d578-ed96-11e2-be73-001a4bcf6878.html

The premise is lowering corporate and higher income taxes will attract more business and result in higher revenues. Think Laffer curve.

As I said above this is not tea party starve the beast. It's grow big government bigger politics. Libs should like that!

They probably looked at the Texas boom in the middle of ObamaStagflation and learned from their mistake. No wonder the libs are ranting about this, they are incapable of learning from their mistakes. Every one of their liberal lands are in decline and they can't figure out how their ideas are causing it.

More taxes, more regulations, more debt, more deficit, and more spending is the liberal way. They also like more on the dole, more receiving food stamps, more with bogus disabilities, and more dead people voting. They are death on more jobs, though.

Ah, but not part time, low paying jobs. It is the great success of the Obama regime, the extent at which full time jobs have been replaced with part time ones.

The other sterling achievement was the amazing enrichment of the one percent, wall street fraudsters and banksters (neither of the last two of which have been seriously prosecuted).

Holder is too busy using the Department of InJustice for spying on journalists and race baiting to do his job, I reckon.

NC just eliminated the estate tax. That means family farms are helped and all the people whose elderly parent(s) from the WWII generation (who managed to save a few hundred thousand $$$) can leave their struggling middle class overtaxed adult children more of the money THEY EARNED.

THAT MONEY IS the only hope they have of paying off their homes and NOT eating cat food in their "retirement" years WHICH are starting in their early 50's for many who had their jobs downsized (fired for nothing) and no one will hire them BECAUSE they're in their 50's.

NC also lowered corporate taxes so companies will come here and bring JOBS.

I'm fine with the changes.

Young liberal knuckleheads disgust me. Wait til it's "your" turn to deal with middle age and have skills and wisdom that no one values.

So why is unemployment still over 7%?

This "lower the taxes for corporations to create jobs" scam has been going on since Reagan.

<meh> If I gave a crap about what you think, I would. As it is, I don't. If you run to thinkprogress for your mindfuck, I can't help you. But NC will be just fine. We finally got rid of the long string of democrat governors that have been robbing us for the last couple of decades. .The last few have all gotten caught in serious wrongdoing <$$$> . Crooks, they are.

Pat McCrory isn't a libertarian, but at least he's not a democrat. We have a republican majority in the house and senate too. That's a start.

Oh.....

So why is unemployment still over 7%?
Democrats, economy crippling regulations, and obamacare.

..and in the areas of businesses, can mean life & death for you if you live near one
