Roderick Scott — the black George Zimmerman?

In April of 2009 Mr. Roderick Scott awoke at 3am to the sounds of three young men breaking into cars on his street. He called the police and went down to the street to make sure the young men did not flee before the police arrived. He shouted at the three to “freeze” and told them that the police were coming soon. The three boys stood before the big man obviously considering what they should do.
That’s when Christopher Cervini (17) rushed at Mr. Scott uttering “I’ll get you” or “I’ll get him.” Roderick Scott fired twice, killing the teenager. The trial that followed was again a case of prosecutorial overreach, as they tried to charge Mr. Scott with manslaughter. Fortunately for Mr. Scott, a jury of his peers agreed with him that he did only what was needed to protect himself.

He was walking next to the houses under the eves? that is not permissive easement. In MI you have the right to shoot someone that is that close to your home.

Now is entirely possible that this was to stay out of the rain! However it does not give you the permission to attack someone that is following you! and is reason for a person on a neighborhood watch in an area that has been subject to Break ins to think that something might be up!

Now we also know that young Mr Martin had one wound and that was a Gun shot! We have witnesses that said that Zimm was attacked and Martin was on top of him! We have specialist that testified that Zimm wounds were consistent with someone that was jumped.

We have NO evidence that Zimm Story was made up we even have police officers testifying that the believed him! So what is your fantasy based on because it sure the hell is not facts

These were no where near identical killings.

First and most importantly these 3 folks were committing a CRIME, second when Roderick Scott called the cops they didn't tell him to stay inside, and third it was 3 AM in the morning NOT 7 PM at night, there were 3 criminals and 1 Roderick Scott AND he asked them to freeze until the cops he had called showed up.

Now, Fox News can SAY these cases are similar all they want but that doesn't make it true AND if these 3 guys were walking home from the store with skittles instead of breaking into cars on Roderick Scott's street I just might agree BUT since that was not the case this discussion is meaningless.

We have indoor plumbing where I live. Amazing stuff. All you have to do is turn a valve and your get all the water you need. You can then mix that with any number of drink mixes easily obtained at the grocery store.

Unions struck such great deals that much of the budgets is in pension programs. I have an Uncle that is drawing 3 pensions and SS he went into the military at 17 put in his 20. Got out and went into the same job as a Civilian, and was given time because of his military service. 15 years later he retires with full pension! Now he has 2 and then went into being a prison guard, and you guessed it 10 years later he has a small pension form them too! Now he is drawing SS and 3 pensions all from the tax payers. Good for him but unsustainable!

So we have forces that are stretched to the max! In Detroit the average response time is 58 min in Grand Rapids a city that is doing fairly well it is about 40 min

And here is the kicker, if you are at gun point when they arrive? because of organizations like the ACLU, they are not able to shoot your attacker! OH! once the person shoots you? They will gladly avenge your life, but they can't save it

Anyone in your home is considered to have less than your welfare in mind. And polices that are soft on crime and baby those that commit them are exactly what have us in the situation we are in!

I excluded home defense in my argument. One cannot tell with an intruder whether they are after goods or whether they will kill. I was referring to property crimes outside of the home, or in an unoccupied home. Should anyone's life be at risk over property? There is no death penalty in the law for theft, yet by arming oneself and challenging a group of youths or any individual attempting theft or simply engaging in vandalism, the vigilant neighbor creates a situation where fear and adrenaline can provoke a life threatening response. The homeowner has therefore, out of blind foolishness, created a death penalty situation for nothing but a crime of property. Is saving a car worth someone's life?
