My interest ended in high school. I took several art classes and loved it and teachers said I was good and senior year they entered some of my work into an art show and a couple paintings sold. Got home, excitedly told my parents, who immediately said you must get them back, we want them. They were mine, I argued, I created them (unwittingly a Lockean), I argued, to no avail. They insisted, I reluctantly agreed, but swore to them I would never paint another picture.

To this day they have the paintings hanging in their house. They're really not that good. But, like Terry on the waterfront, I can't help thinking I could have been a contender!

That's my sad story for the day.

Enjoy the graphic while I feel sorry for myself. :-)

I've always been jealous of people who can paint or basically do anything artistic on paper. I can draw stick people, my talent ends there. Seems like a cool talent to have though, (painting, not stick people).
