Bill giving Congress power over regulations draws veto threat

The White House threatened Wednesday to veto legislation requiring congressional approval of the most expensive regulations issued by federal agencies, saying the measure would undermine basic government functions.

The House is expected to vote as soon as Friday to approve the Regulations From the Executive in Need of Scrutiny (REINS) Act, which would require both chambers of Congress to sign off on regulations carrying an annual price tag of $100 million or more.

This is an idea long past it's time to be. The administrations goofy cabinet pals shouldn't be able to spend our money ad nauseam. The tax and spend White House is threatening to veto this common sense legislation. This is way we must eject as many Democrats from the House and Senate as possible. They are burying our great grand kids under a mountain of debt they'll never get out from under. Or worse, they will have to go to war with a foreign country we've defaulted on loans with (China).

I simply refuse to believe that's the legacy we want to leave our grand kids and great grand kids with. We MUST have a balanced Budget Amendment added to the Constitution of the United States. If you don't think of yourselves, think of the debt your passing on to your grand kids and great grand kids. If we don't act now to stop the spending madness, they'll be urinating on our graves cursing us for what we didn't do.

There should not be a need for this legislation- that is how they systems was made to work. The problem is that the legislative branch let the executive branch get away with it for too long.

I think he means that and freely uses Government agencies to do it.
