Don't ever chase someone down. I would have voted no because I would think the guy was scared but you are digging yourself a hole when you chase someone down and kill them.

As a matter of fact, I'm even a little wary of using certain shotgun shells for home defense. My buck and ball shells (it's a .50 slug with 6 '00' buck shot behind it) could land me in hot water if I shot someone with them in my home. The thing is that it could be taken into account if you use a weapon designed specifically to cause extra damage to the human body. I'm sure it's not a concern in some states but in the Peoples Republic of New Jersey I will probably stick with regular buckshot. Besides, it's not like anyone is getting up from that anyway.

God forbid I ever had to harm someone.

It's just to line up the target. Even at very close range the spread will be the size of a fist at least. That many times larger than the a bullet but you should still aim. It just doesn't have to be a precision shot.

Yeah I always mock those that are on TV and shooting a pistol sideways.....I carried a sawed-of 12 gauge when I was in Nam a couple of times. The weapon is not a problem to lug around. It's all the ammo one needs.
