WEST DES MOINES, Iowa--Michele Bachmann announced her exit from the presidential race Wednesday morning following a sixth-place finish in the first-in-the-nation caucus state of Iowa.

As recently as Tuesday evening, Bachmann was dismissing questions about whether a poor finish in Iowa would prompt her immediate departure from the race, saying her campaign's travel tickets were already booked for South Carolina--her next major campaign stop after largely passing over New Hampshire, which holds its primary on Tuesday, Jan. 10.

The congresswoman has not yet discussed whether she will run for re-election in Minnesota, Stewart said.

Bachmann is out.....which last nite she said she wasnt going to drop out. But then just like a woman. She changed her mind. Seems to me she did so after Perry's remarks on praying about whether he should continue on. Then it was now Bachmann was going to pray on it. Rumor has it she wasn't going to run in NH as she wants to be Romneys VP. IMO she did not want to take Votes from him. So to me she is looking for the favor. Question......Romney/Bachmann????? :undecided:

I am willing to bet money the Wannabe Queen of the Tea party was so pist last nite that she couldnt see straight let alone try to give a complete statement with clarity. To lose the state she was born in and not even get no traction.

Thats Okay ME-Shell.....consider it like there is less than 5 seconds to score. All ya got to do is shoot the ball.
Me-Shell up with the Jump Shot.....REJECTED!!!!!

Think if Romney picks her as his VP this Could cause Obama more Problems? If Not Bachmann I think Romney should pick a Woman. As it would give or be an Advantage that Obama doesnt have. IMO Bachmann would be alright as a VP. other than she would be in line for the Presidency. Althought I would definately always be making sure Rmeny was healthy and not having ANY medical problems. Moves her out of Harms Way literally. Kind Like the Demos did with Biden.

Well, so long Michelle. From what I read she was in danger of being in a lot of debt - not like Newt and Mitt, so I'm glad she got out now.

I really don't think Bachmann brings anything to the table as Mitt's VP. I can't see why he would want her. She's not popular and like you said MMC, she couldn't even win the state of her birth. If he can choose a VP that captures independents then he'll have a better shot at knocking off Obama.

I still think he needs a Woman to beat Obama. I don't think he can do it on his own. But I bet she will seek re-election in Minnesota. Althought I would not be opposed to driving her out of politics all together.

I don't know about a woman. If she's qualified sure, but some women like Palin and Bachmann (and Hillary too) have been fairly divisive. I think there is a chance to capture independents but it's got to be a good pick. Petreus would have worked maybe.

I can't think of any females off the top of my head. Whitman? But I am sure there are men who would draw independents. Someone well respected.

Yes there may be guys.....but what Women? Do you think Whitman could attract independant voters. In being a VP. All she need do is look good and keep herself in control. Mouth-wise!

Yeah.....plus she could help tighten up his weakness in Foreign Policy. I think she would be an excellent choice. Woman, plus she is black, and she can draw independant Women Voters!

For 55, Michelle's not that hard on the eye.

Her husband, not so much.

On one hand, I give her credit. She knows she doesn't have a chance in hell to get the nomination and why not get out of the mudslinging now, she's clearly a potential VP nomination considering what she lacks between her legs (or has depending on your approach).

On the other hand, how does she look a financial or volunteer supporter in the eye and say "sorry, I had no chance" after the first round of caucusing?

Yeah, she's not bad.

You came within a few votes of having to convert to Islam last night.

Santorum is a Statist.

Bachmann dropped out because she wasn't going to go into debt and her donations dried up. Smart move.

not to be sticking up for Santorum here, but his personal opinions on faith will have 0 effect as president.. He cannot institute a bibical curriculum. he can't get past the house or the supreme court with it.. mainly because of the separation of Church and state statute,

No he did not propose any such thing but the left and others will use his personal beliefs as a tool to beat him over the head with. it is assinine that this is done but that is what is being done.. especially his personal views on contraceptives, abortion, and gay marriage.

it like for example I prefer brunettes over blonds, now that could be conscrued to say I discriminate against blonds. it is assinine

Heya WR.....yeah it took me some time to look around. But I actually believe Romney could win with Condi Rice. There is no doubt she has the credentials. I even Sent an Email to Romney. Former S.O.S. and professor. Already has established contacts with overseas peeps. Plus she is not establishment.

The left isn't going to like anyone from the right. If they can't play the race card, they will play the religion one.

MMC

Condi would stop the race card. Dunno bout religious one. Although I don't expect the left to bring up Romney's Mormonism. Otherwise focus comes down on Harry Reid as well.

Cain didn't. It would just be played differently. Anyway, that the race card has any traction all these days is a shame. Shame on all of us.

Yes, Politics in America - a card will be played. Race card, religion, etc. It is lowest common denominator appeal.
