A Texas judge said Thursday he plans to have a special prosecutor review allegations that Gov. Rick Perry abused the powers of his office and broke the law over a veto that cut funding for state public corruption investigators. Judge Robert Richardson said he expects to select someone in the coming days to look at a two-page complaint filed by a watchdog group, Texans for Public Justice. The special prosecutor could quickly deem the complaint meritless or decide it warrants further investigation.

This makes sense when you take a look at who funds TPJ (http://www.tpj.org/1997/01/about-tpj.html): Open Society Institute (http://www.soros.org/) (George Soros, whose fortune also directly funds candidates even at the local level in Texas (http://www.empowertexans.com/node/1330)) and the Tides Foundation (http://www.tides.org/) (Teresa Heinz-Kerry (http://www.discoverthenetworks.org/funderProfile.asp?fndid=5184), among many others). Scratch the surface of most “nonpartisan watchdogs” in your state and you’ll probably find the same money sources, and perhaps a similar network of activists and groups. They are Soros’ “Shadow Party (http://www.amazon.com/Shadow-Party-Hillary-Radicals-Democratic/dp/1595551034).” TPJ is a left-wing front masquerading as a nonpartisan watchdog.Somehow the mainstream media in Texas consistently misses the fact that TPJ never takes on Democrats, about anything, ever.

Gosh, you don't suppose they have an agenda do you?

Doesn't really strike me as news until and unless the prosecutor decides there's a case.

If there's not one, then it's a straight-up executive veto of a funding bill. Very routine.

I may not like Perry very much, but credulity is more important than animosity.
