The battle rages behind the scenes between republicans and teanuts

John Boehner called the play in the huddle. Boehner told all of his House Republican Caucus on a conference call (http://www.washingtonpost.com/business/economy/boehner-intends-short-term-fix-to-avert-a-shutdown/2013/08/22/a0ca27a4-0b7e-11e3-b87c-476db8ac34cd_story.html?hpid=z3) that there will not be a shutdown of the federal government in order to defund The Affordable Care Act, aka ObamaCare. In any normal time, such a direct statement from the Speaker would mean there will not be a shutdown of the federal government in order to defund ObamaCare, but these are not normal times and the question remains: Does the Speaker have enough clout and enough votes to enforce his decision? Boehner was making a statement designed to signal his resolve (http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/08/23/us-usa-healthcare-republicans-idUSBRE97L15120130823) but it came amid other statements of resolve to oppose him from several leading Republican senators including Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio, (http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-250_162-57600014/republicans-lack-votes-to-defund-obamacare/) as well as influential organizations like the Club for Growth and Heritage Foundation. (http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/gop-primaries/318603-gop-infighting-over-obamacare-could-spill-over-into-2014-elections) And (here is Boehner’s problem) 80 Republican Congressional … Read the rest (http://www.centeredpolitics.com/2013/08/can-boehner-save-the-gop-from-self-destruction/)

I doubt it. They've been sliding toward complete self-destruction for years.

Do you think that if you keep starting these stupid threads lobbying for Republicrats, Common, that anyone here besides Marie is going to take you seriously?

Don't bet on it.

The issue isn't saving the GOP. It's the country that's in danger.

Even if that were true, the GOP likes it that way. Hence their continual slide toward self-destruction.

Not at all. President Obama hates the U.S. He actively seeks its destruction and calls for a fundamental transformation. President Obama tries desperately to emulate President Bush because he's incompetent as a President and even incompetent as a socialist. All he can do is try to destroy.

Can you show us exactly which category we are better off in!

I know that there are more people on food stamps and living in poverty? Is that your idea of success?

I'll concede this much: "President Obama hates the U.S. He actively seeks its destruction and calls for a fundamental transformation."

Comical. When Obama Care belly flops it's way into up to 65 million (http://waysandmeans.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=294468) working middle class people with good company sponsored health care plans to be tossed into the crappy plans of the exchanges, the Democrat party will go the way of the Whigs.

And jillian makes things up for the 3,201st time. Doesn't this deserve an award?

I don't love anarchy and hate government, jillian, I'm not emotional like you.

Where'd I call anyone a liar? When it comes to politics, I have no love or hate, therefore her statement is false and therefore must be made up.

I don't think she lies, she projects her own emotions onto others.

Now if you want to say, and you are, jillian's a liar, who am I to stop you?
