Tax exemption & donor anonymityUnited States federal tax law, specifically Section 501(c)(4) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/501(c)(4)) of the Internal Revenue Code (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internal_Revenue_Code) (26 U.S.C. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internal_Revenue_Code) § 501(c) (http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/26/501(c).html)), exempts certain types of nonprofit organizations from having to pay federal income tax.

The statutory language of IRC 501(c)(4) generally requires civic organizations described in that section to be "operated exclusively for the promotion of social welfare". Treasury regulations (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treasury_regulations) interpreting this statutory language apply a more relaxed standard, namely, that the organization "is operated primarily for the purpose of bringing about civic betterments and social improvements."[9] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2013_IRS_scandal#cite_note-9)

As a result, the IRS (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internal_Revenue_Service) traditionally has permitted organizations described in IRC 501(c)(4) to engage in lobbying and political campaign activities if those activities are not the organization's primary activity.[10] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2013_IRS_scandal#cite_note-10)

Certainly fits those hundreds of little tea parties that David Koch uses as a tax write off !

That's probably true of most business, the write offs. Don't like it, petition the government you grievances.

Why are you trolling about tea parties?

The hundreds of tea party outfits that IRS is after for lying to get a 501c(4) exemption - I like.

Why are you and your friends trolling about President Obama?

But they managed to destroy Acorn no problem, while few if any TP organisations were ever denied.

Anyone says David Koch is using those tea party outfits to launder his profits is a liar ...

A down right liar!

Tea party protested the IRS screenings like IRS didn't know David Koch is their banker.

You notice that cigar has posted very little today.

Actually, not at all. They are similar in their one liners but Cigar has much more entertaining visuals.

Maybe ole Ciggie just had to work for a change today. Even those "equal opportunity" contractors have to do something on occasion.

Don't worry, he'll be back in all his garbled glory shortly.

Tea party apparently thinks they are justified in evading taxes because they don't like taxes.

I'm sure they believe everyone should evade taxes .... and force the Government to cut expenses.

Like France, Spain, Greece, Senegal ......

Shouldn't you do less name-calling and personal attacking - and post more substance?

Why make things up, paul, I didn't call you any names or attack you personally, I commented on the lack of substance of your posts. Say something meaningful instead of merely trolling, and I'll respond in kind.

Say something meaningful to a tea bagger?

What in god's name would that be? - use the tattle button?

How hypocritical to demand substance but refuse to contribute any.
