States scramble to get health-care law’s insurance marketplaces up and running

By Sarah Kliff and Sandhya Somashekhar,

With a key deadline approaching, state officials across the country are scrambling to get the Affordable Care Act’s complex computer systems up and running, reviewing contingency plans and, in some places, preparing for delays.

Oct. 1 is the scheduled launch date for the health-care law’s insurance marketplaces — online sites where uninsured people will be able to shop for coverage, sometimes using a government subsidy to purchase a plan. An estimated 7 million people are expected to use these portals to purchase health coverage in 2014.

Oregon announced this month that it will delay consumers’ direct access to its marketplace, opening the Web site only to brokers and consumer-assistance agents in order to shield consumers from opening-day glitches.

In California, which has the nation’s largest uninsured population, health officials have begun hinting that they may have a similar problem.

Here comes the train wreck. Telling the passengers the wreck is coming a few miles ahead when they are already going there at 90 mph is little consolation. I wonder if Democrat Legislators realize that getting re-elected hinges upon whether Obama Care is a success or failure in it's launch. After all the majority of American's have been through in the last five years, screwing up their health care will be the very last straw. Unfortunately for Democrats, they can't point at Republicans and say....they voted for it too. They didn't. In fact they voted to repeal it 40 times and the Democrat led Senate wouldn't even address it. That means the Democrats OWN what ever happens in the next 8 months, just in time for the 2014 mid-term.

When Obama care crashes the health care system of tens of millions of voters, I think this is how they will leave Washington DC in January of 2015.

Of course the Democrats realize the next election could hinge on ObamaCare. Why do you think they've illegally delayed the implementation of the parts that would nuke them in the 2014 election?

It's a new executive power--the line item delay.

October 1st 2013 - Tick-Tock

Is that the date when America becomes nothing more than a third world nation at best?

No, that's the date for starting ObamaCare that his administration can't meet.
