So in Rome you could go to the Slave Market and buy yourself a hot sex slave or three. Your new sex slave was your poperty and you could even kill the sex slave if that is what you decided to do.
So you have purchased your sex slave and you get her home to you villa and now you can collar her. Many Romans would put their address on their slaves collars and a short note asking for the slave to be returned to the owner. Kinda like early chipping. Something like- "please return this runaway sex slave to ....."
If you were a wealthy Roman you might have a whole heap of sex slaves and other assorted slaves.
Everyone seemed pretty fine with this.
Now the Romans were not the only ones that took slaves. The barbarian gauls and the Germanic Tribes would also take slaves at times. Slaves were usually men, women and children from a conquered population but Rome didnt have things all their own way all the time. Sometimes the Romans lost battles and lost cities. It was not uncommon fo a barbarian chief to own a civilized slave or two.
Imagine that. You are a beautiful delicate young lady from a Patrician family one second. The next second you are the property and sex slave of a barbarian chief.
The Mongolians would at times negotiate to take a heap of Chinese Princess types with them after they had broken in to China. The Chinese pretty much had to give them what they were asking. They would send their pretty young well bred daughter off with these Mongolian barbarians and they would never be seen again. Chinese nobility now the civilized slaves of Mongolians.
I really like the Disney movie Beauty and the Beast. It is my facourite Disney movie easy and a cool play. Belle is so nice. I wish real girls were like that. (: I was thinking that Belle is kind of a civilized slave.
There is a very good Jack London story called The Scarlet Plague. Its really cool. In it there is a plague that wipes out pretty much all the worlds population. Only a few are immume. It must be one of the first 'day after' type stories. So the people that survive form tribes and there is this alpha dude that used to be a limo driver that is chief of this tribe. His wife is essentially a civilized slave. She was the wife of this limo drivers boss before the plague. Now he is alpha and he pretty much takes this chick as his wife and there isnt anything she or the rest of the tribe can do about it..
So it makes me think of the book on Rome written by wanna-be Patrician Edward Gibbon. The Decilne and Fall of the Roman Empire.
"In the days of chivalry, or more properly of romance, all the men were brave, and all the women were chaste;" and notwithstanding the latter of these virtues is acquired and preserved with much more difficulty than the former, it is ascribed, almost without exception, to the wives of the ancient Germans. Polygamy was not in use, except among the princes, and among them only for the sake of multiplying their alliances. Divorces were prohibited by manners rather than by laws. Adulteries were punished as rare and inexpiable crimes; nor was seduction justified by example and fashion. We may easily discover that Tacitus indulges an honest pleasure in the contrast of barbarian virtue with the dissolute conduct of the Roman ladies; yet there are some striking circumstances that give an air of truth, or at least probability, to the conjugal faith and chastity of the Germans.

Seems to me the Germans were much better people than the Romans all round. I was thinking that maybe some of the civilzed slaves that were taken by the barbarians might have actually found that they kinda liked the barbarians better than the Romans. Maybe some were like Belle from Beauty and the Beast and fell for their alpha barbarian Teuton masters. Roman women did line up to buy Gladiator sweat that they considered to be an aphrodisiac. Roman women were not exactly shy about their desires for the most part.
