Few think Paul will be the nominee. But an increasing number of people think he'll play a huge role in the GOP fight — and in the general election.
Still, unlike four years ago, many Republicans are taking Paul and his devoted following seriously this time around — even though few think the libertarian congressman has any shot at winning the nomination. Here, a look at why Ron Paul might still be a forced to be reckoned with:
If he can't win the nomination, why is Paul running?
A cause. Paul and his aides insist that the Ron Paul Revolution will keep on rolling through the GOP primary season, and perhaps all the way to the Republican National Convention in August. If he can win enough delegates, Paul will have leverage at the convention to... do something. "Given everything we know about him, he'll be seeking some sort of major policy statement from the party," Colby College political scientist Anthony Corrado tells Bloomberg (http://us.lrd.yahoo.com/SIG=1423ivgs5/EXP=1327626140/**http%3A//www.businessweek.com/news/2012-01-11/paul-may-win-republican-convention-clout-by-gaining-delegates.html). "I suspect that's more important to him than any particularly personal role at the convention or any rules change." Paul seems to be leaning that way, telling CNN (http://us.lrd.yahoo.com/SIG=129piv09n/EXP=1327626140/**http%3A//www.cnn.com/2012/01/11/politics/paul-momentum/) he might get "something in the platform that says, maybe we ought to look at the Federal Reserve and maybe we ought to reconsider and not (go) to war unless we have a declaration of war.".....snip~

This is why Ron Paul has become a significant factor. He can play kingmaker now. He can get something from the party. I was telling others all he has to do is win 5 caucus states and then all know his path. He wants the Convention and the Change In the GOP. Obama now knows Paul is pulling the youth vote. That Paul has been hitting all these College Campus'. Plus Obama has lost half the hispanic vote. Cannot take Indiana, Florida and Wyoming this time round.
Plus Paul and Romney are the only two who made it on the ballot for every state. The only thing I havent heard was how much money Paul has taken in. Romney says 24 mil. Obama made 60 mil just for the last quarter. He made over 70 mil in the first. They are expected to have over 750 million. So he can run against the Republican Nominee.
To think right there between both these parties there is a billion dollars. That could have helped reduce the deficit.....huh?
