Unbelievable. The weather events just keep coming. I feel for the people of Colorado and especially the families of those who have lost their lives.

Growing up in the New Orleans area- I got to experience many floods. I was in the national guard during college and got to work a few of them, notably Andrew.

Andrew? That's the storm that tore up Miami. Refresh my memory did it affect NO too or did you mean Katrina?

Andrew hit Florida and New Orleans (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurricane_Andrew).

It had weakened to a Cat 3 by then; but it was slow moving if I remember- there was a lot of flooding. Florida was worse off when the storm was a Cat 5.

I wonder what would happen if weather....stopped.

When the Big Thompson flood killed 144 people some of the survivors returned and built their homes back on the same foundations. The flood in 1976 was a millenial flood so their couldn't be another until 2076. In Tucson there were seven massive floods between 1977 and 1980. They really aren't scheduled but don't tell Al Gore.

The Proper use of White Sheets

Colorado citizens needing assistance to evacuate are being asked by the National Guard to make themselves more visible to chopper crews by waving white sheets.

To our Members from Freeperville; this is a proper use of white sheets.
