In a speech Monday about the financial crisis, President Barack Obama tore into Republicans on Tuesday for their persistence in trying to destroy Obamacare, reminding them that Mitt Romney lost the election.

"It passed both houses of Congress. The Supreme Court ruled it constitutional. It was an issue in last year's election and the candidate who called for repeal lost," he said to applause. "Republicans in the House have tried to repeal or sabotage it about 40 times. They've failed every time."

He went after Republicans for suggesting they might risk a government shutdown or debt default if Obama refuses to defund or delay the implementation Obamacare. "Some Republicans in the House of Representatives who are promising to shut down the government at the end of this month if they can't shut down the Affordable Care Act," he said. "And if that scheme doesn't work, some have suggested they won't pay the very bills Congress has already run up."

"Are they really willing to hurt people just to score political points? I hope not."

I think he actually has these "we won" posts on macros so he doesn't have to type them repeatedly.

As for ObamaCare, I agree the Republicans are making a big mistake here. They should take the opposite tactic and force Obama to implement the entire law. The rest will take care of itself and the Democrats in short order. Among other things, they and their media shills wouldn't be able to accuse the Republicans of blocking anything.

Obama and the Democrats would stew in their own juice.

Yeah, I voted for Bush, so??
We did not go around and every other post scream "We won! We won!" and Bush never went around talking about how he won the election so now we have to just suck it up.
No, that is only done by the partisan hacks, like you and Cigar, on the left. Bunch of children.

Yes he is President

In the Third paragraph, he states that he does not want it delayed, however; he has delayed many parts of it and exempted many of his friends, and now business.

At this point it is nothing more that a ploy to gain taxes from the poor who are forced to have insurance, but their employer's have been given a pass on providing it for them?

The ACA has the support of only 23% of the people

So yes he is President, NOT KING, and he has chose to govern against the will of the people?

So pass the debt ceiling increase, and fund each aspect of the government, except the ACA? and let the Democrats decide weather or not they want to shut down the government over a program that the people do not want!

As has been mentioned before, slavery was the law early in the 19th century. Should we still follow that law?

Poor, Cigar. He and President Obama both seem to think President Obama was elected as a dictator. Neither President Obama nor Cigar can quit crying about checks and balances. Neither can envision an administration with a Supreme Court and a Congrees functioning. No, for the duo it has to be Stalin or nothing.

Poor babies. They remind of teenagers whining about parents, teachers, adults everywhere crimping their style when they know absolutely everything.

I don't have to?????? Fearless leader gave me and my fellow business owners a pass, because he found out we were going to cut our staff and not turn the rest of them loose on the exchanges!

Can't have that before an election now can we???

The ACA is a fraud Cigar, the American people know it!

And speaking of that the 2nd amendment has been the laws since the founding documents. Why don't you liberals follow it, instead of trying to change it all the time???

Zelmo, the "American people" put this administration in office. The ACA is our opportunity to teach a lesson about government that will have a real impact. We need to let them have that experience.

Sorry but implementing a plan that puts and end to freedom as we know it, That is like saying the founders should have continued under the rule of the crown, to show those that did not want a revolution how wrong they are!

This plan kills the economy, leaves people without insurance, and will bankrupt the country! I can't support that

No, no, no zelmo1234. When obamacare does all that you mentioned, of course it will be the Republican's fault! Dems take no responsibility for their actions.

I agree with you 100% on this. The feckless Republican leadership in congress has got to belly up to Conservatism and start acting like leaders by stuffing this ACA train wreck in its tracks. Funding of this monstrosity would spell the end to our nation as we know it, and worse, it would embolden the progressive socialists even more. You think our economy is in a nosedive now, just let obamascare get its funding and you'll see a mad rush of doctors and businesses heading overseas to escape its destructive forces.

Zelmo, you just made my point. It was the wretched excess of the Crown that caused the first American revolution.

The second will only happen when the level of wretched excess of the Federal government becomes unbearable. The people will only learn that progressivism is wrong when it really hurts them personally and in large numbers.

Happy folks don't overturn oppressive governments.

That is, yet another, lie. Republicans have proposed funding the government, just not obamacare. The ball is in the Dem's court now.

Can't wait till Nov 2014. When Obama Care causes up to 65 million (http://waysandmeans.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=294468) of working middle class with good company sponsored health care plans to be tossed into the crappy more expensive plans of the exchanges, the Democrats chances of retaining control of the senate with 21 seats up for election will be slim to none.

no. but i lived through baby bush's presidency and i saw nothing to elevate him to adult. you'll forgive me. i don't call him dumbya ... or other names. ok...i slip occasionally and call him shrub (for baby bush). it's mostly a way to differentiate him from daddy bush... whom i actually respect although i didn't agree with everything he did.

You claim to be an adult also, yet we see nothing here that would indicate that you are. So we should just call you "baby jilly", right?
