The congress-critters aren't getting along. (http://www.politico.com/story/2013/09/house-gop-budget-strategy-government-shutdown-97496.html)

House Republicans forced through a short-term government funding bill that delays Obamacare and permanently repeals a tax on medical devices, setting up their most dramatic face-off ever with President Barack Obama and Senate Democrats.

The vote to delay Obamacare was 231-192 (http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2013/roll498.xml), with two Republicans voting against the bill, while two Democrats supported it. The Republicans opposed to the bill were New York Reps. Chris Gibson and Richard Hanna, and the Democrats who supported the measure were North Carolina Rep. Mike McInytre and Utah Rep. Jim Matheson.

Democrats want a shut down. They give certain entities a year delay but refuse thei bill that gives all a 1 year delay. Show Obama and democrats care more about money than about the people. This shut down is on the democrats trying to bully the GOP.

This shows Obama knows nothing about being President or about diplomacy. Obama is a bully acting like a spoiled brat.

This is Obama saying I want what I want and I want it right now.

Watch and learn next week from the ObamaMedia (basically all of them).

It will be the Republicans' fault and ONLY the Republicans' fault.

Watch and learn why the Republicans are being amazingly stupid here.

They can claim but actions show a different story. The democrats will not notice but others will. This could blow up in Obama's face.

Go back to 1996 it hurt the GOP very little yet the democrats say it was a GOP disaster. The GOP got the balanced Budget law. In 1996 they lost 2 house seats and gained 2 senate seats. How much damage is that. I say they gained by getting a balanced budget

Right. We are the reason that Clinton's presidency had some good moments.

If people would just realize that, that for the most part these politicians are only in it to blame each other and gather partisan votes to keep them in power to do favors for big corporations.

I think I have figured out your confusion Cigar?

We elected a President, not a KING!

WE have separation of powers and you have lost 2 house elections in a row as well so those in the house have now consented to obamcare they just want it to be ready to go? What is the problem, even the Democrats admit that it is not ready

So why won't Obama compromise, why is he being so obstructionist?

What amazes me is that Obama is so stupid he doesn't see that the even stupider Republicans are trying to save his sorry ass from trying to start this debacle up now with all the reports of computer and administrative breakdowns two days before it is launched. No, these Republican idiots want to delay it for a year so that it won't win the 2014 election for them.

I have never experienced in my life a government so full of fools and idiots. That is the only thing I can see that the Republicans and Democrats have "compromised" on. They are all stupider than shit.

Maybe they should let it pass and fund Obamacare so I can buy 10,000 shares in Express Scripts (ESRX)...

Right. We are the reason that Clinton's presidency had some good moments.

You mean the GOP made him do things he didn't want to. It is time for the GOP to get a spine again

The bigger question is why do corporations get and not citizens. Exchanges are no where close to ready

Hubby and I have been watching the pay situation closely....thank God retired pay comes our of a different fund and won't be affected! Hubby read that if all this mess happens, they will be issuing IOU's to active duty military at the beginning of October, instead of a paycheck.

WTF????

They should be taking care of the troops first, the rest after. Idiots.

I read only possibly delayed checks.

Shutdown is a misnomer to scare people. I heard Library of Congress and SCOTUS web sites might shut down.

Still....a delayed paycheck to a lower-grade military person who lives paycheck to paycheck could be disastrous for him/her.

I don't think so. The House passed an amendment last night to fund military pay. If that is rejected than that will be on Reid and Obama

That may be, nothing I read indicated how long a delay but did indicate it was by agency choice.

They always try to make it as painful as possible one everyone but themselves. Do you think Congress and their staffers will have their paychecks delayed? Not likely, but they try to hurt average Americans, just like they did with the whole "sequester" boondoggle, just to make Americans think twice about doing what's right for the country.
