Hmmmm after a year of trapsing around the Country and giving interviews she now decides she cannot do her job effectively so she is resigning. Got that extra year of living off that tax payer money.....huh?

How many years as a Congresswoman? Does she still get lifetime medical benefits as a former member of Congress? This will open another Democratic Seat up.

Well to be fair it probably took a while to see how her rehab was going to go. No sense in stepping down if you think you can still get the job done.

actuall mmc when giffords was elected as congresswoman she automatically qualified for retirement at full congressional pay for therest of her life. all you have to do to qualify is be sworn in.. end of story.

That needs to be changed asap.....cant have people who serve one or two terms being taken care of for the rest of their lives.

yeah well that is the way it works in DC now.. these guys vote themselves raises, all kinds of perks and add ons free insurance plans that cost teh taxpayers millions and then claim they are doing the will of the people.. seems to me they are doing their own will and the people be dammned.
