All I could do was laugh like hell when I read this, this jackass needs to be locked up in gitmo and theyre calling him JESUS and the rightwingers on this site and others called Obama the Messiah, talk about laughable twofacedness.
Hilarious

Ted Cruz (http://thenewcivilrightsmovement.com/?s=%22Ted%20Cruz%22) is being praised as a Republican Jesus Christ willing to be crucified for the GOP’s ideology. In Iowa Friday at an annual Ronald Reagan fundraising dinner, Cruz, a Tea Party Republican freshman U.S. Senator from Texas, was hailed as a martyr willing to stand on principle rather than actually pass legislation or compromise.

Hes none of the above, hes a bought and paid for self aggandizing canadian without an original thought or idea who plays to a small constituency of narrow minded out of touch texans who have always suffered from illusions of grandeur and the belief what they think is what it is. “As an audience of 600 Republicans awaited the arrival of Sen. Ted Cruz Friday night at the Iowa Events Center, conservative Christian activist Steve Scheffler came to the podium to give thanks to God for the Tea Party savior — and plead for more principled conservative leaders like him willing to ‘be crucified for their belief system.’” writes (http://www.buzzfeed.com/mckaycoppins/how-washingtons-crucifixion-of-ted-cruz-made-him-a-tea-party) Buzzfeed’s McKay Coppins.

The ballroom full of amens that followed went a long way toward explaining why Cruz — fresh off a failed crusade to dismantle Obamacare that resulted in a 16-day government shutdown and a political disaster for his party — has been greeted with such adoration by Tea Party crowds in recent days.

In Cruz, conservatives have found something better than a champion for their cause or a defender of their values. They’ve found a martyr.

“Every time one of these guys attacks him, it’s good for him,” said one Iowa Republican operative. “He’s like a superhero. The more bullets that get shot at him, the bigger and stronger he gets.”

Of course, Cruz’s actions earlier that led to the GOP shutdown of the federal government cost American taxpayers $24 billion and hundreds of thousands of jobs. When it was over, accomplishing nothing except a huge drop in the Republican Party’s favorability ratings, Cruz declared victory.

from your link:

Ted Cruz (http://thenewcivilrightsmovement.com/?s="Ted Cruz") today gleefully admitted the federal government shutdown he started three weeks ago with his fake filibuster (http://thenewcivilrightsmovement.com/watch-ted-cruz-recite-dr-seuss-green-eggs-and-ham-on-the-senate-floor/politics/2013/09/25/75660) was really just a fundraising stunt. The freshman Tea Party Senator from Texas also admitted that the “efforts to defund Obamacare… began months ago.” Which is exactly what the New York Times reported (http://thenewcivilrightsmovement.com/house-gop-created-new-rule-to-prevent-anyone-but-eric-cantor-from-ending-government-shutdown/politics/2013/10/14/76825#.Ul7U3Rax7e4) — that the defunding campaign was a creation of former President Ronald Reagan’s scandal-plagued, anti-pornography crusading attorney general Edwin Meese (http://thenewcivilrightsmovement.com/?s="Edwin Meese"), and former Senator Jim DeMint (http://thenewcivilrightsmovement.com/?s="Jim DeMint")’s Heritage Foundation’s Heritage Action lobbyists.

More bullshit from the low information left wing socialist crowd. Its obvious they are frightened of Cruz otherwise they would just ignore him. Instead they attack him on superficial points. Never once do they address the issues he raises.

You know why they won't confront him on the issues? Because they know they can't, because they know they are morally bankrupt. Because they know by doing so they will tip their hand at their true agenda, complete and utter control by an all knowing government.

They really don't think much of human beings since they obviously believe we are all so stupid we can't even be trusted to come in out of the rain.

He has marginalized himself to the left but not necessarily to thinking Americans, which admittedly are becoming less and less on a daily basis.

Its been my experience that the candidate who would actually do the most good for America is the one the press is most likely to derail.

In “Ted Cruz Admits Budget Standoff Was All About Fundraising (http://thinkprogress.org/default/2013/10/16/2791091/ted-cruz-admits-budget-standoff-fundraising/),” Think Progress notes that in the ”three week period following Cruz’s speech — even as GOP’s national approval ratings plummeted — conservatives frantically built their fundraising lists and campaign coffers. In the last quarter, Cruz’s political action committee raised in $797,000 (http://www.theatlanticwire.com/politics/2013/10/ted-cruz-filibuter-paid/70582/), nearly twice what it pulled in the quarter prior, and Heritage Action — which has pressured conservatives to vote against any bill that does not undermine Obamcare — collected $330,000.”

...

Buoyed by this vision of himself as conservatism’s Great Hero, Cruz was in a boisterous and jokey mood. Here are eight of the craziest quips from his speech:

1. On Obama’s plot to kidnap him: “So this afternoon President Obama has invited the Senate Republicans to the White House. So after leaving here, I’m going to be going to the White House. I will make a request. if I’m never seen again, please send a search and rescue team. I very much hope by tomorrow morning I don’t wake up amidst the Syrian rebels.”
2. On the press: “The media wants America to give up and allow this country to keep sliding off the edge of the cliff.”
3. On the Constitution: “This is an administration that seems bound and determine to violate every single one of our bill of rights. I don’t know that they have yet violated the Third Amendment, but I expect them to start quartering soldiers in peoples’ homes soon.”
4. On the hecklers who interrupted his speech: “Is anybody left at OFA headquarters? I’m actually glad that the president’s whole political staff is here instead of actually doing mischief in the country
5. On hecklers, again: “It would seem that President Obama’s paid political operatives are out in force. The men and women in this room scare the living daylights out of them.”
6. On hecklers, a third time: “How scared is the President? What a statement of fear, what a statement of fear. Oh, they don’t want the truth to be heard. They definitely don’t want the truth to be heard.”
7. On the Cold War: “Our foreign policy is detente, which I’m pretty sure is French for surrender.”
8. On Vice President Biden: “You don’t need a punchline. You just say his name, people laugh.”

Tony Perkins, who leads the organization behind the Value Voters Summit, called Cruz (http://www.cnn.com/2013/10/11/politics/shutdown-perkins-values-voter/index.html) “a de facto leader of the Republican Party” who was “filling a vacuum” at the top of the party.

According to an NBC/Wall Street Journal poll released Thursday night, 44 percent of Americans don’t know who Ted Cruz (http://msnbcmedia.msn.com/i/MSNBC/Sections/A_Politics/_Today_Stories_Teases/Oct_poll.pdf) is. Among Americans that do, twice as many (http://firstread.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/10/10/20903624-nbcwsj-poll-shutdown-debate-damages-gop?lite) have unfavorable impressions of the Senator as have favorable ones.

While people can disagree on how one goes about creating a successful formula for being effective in a United States Senate filled with one hundred ego driven, elected officials with a wide variety of goals, agendas and intentions, there is one critical feature for success that is incontrovertible—nobody gets very far in the United States Senate without the support of their colleagues.

...

If a senator can’t bring others to sign on to his point of view in an effort to gain passage of the bills that such a senator believes to be important to state and country, that senator is inevitably consigned to the back-bench and, at best, a footnote to senate history.

Often, (but not always) success requires the ability to reach across the aisle to get something done. However, nobody elected to the United States Senate ever succeeds without the support and cooperation of their fellow party members—especially if one of those fellow party members whose affections have been alienated happens to be the Senate Majority or Minority Leader.

This being the unarguable reality, Senator Ted Cruz—who may, indeed, be succeeding in putting himself on the map in preparation for the 2016 presidential primary tests—has, just months after being elected by his fellow Texans, failed in truly dramatic fashion to fulfill his state’s hopes that he become a meaningful player in the U.S. Senate.

On Wednesday, in what is now being described as a “lynching” by his fellow Senate Republicans, Ted Cruz found out just how incredibly unpopular and disrespected he is by his peers.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) has become something of a piñata for two groups of congressional Republicans: Those who eagerly support his exhortation (http://theweek.com/article/index/249869/is-ted-cruz-throwing-the-gop-under-the-bus) to strip all funding for ObamaCare, and those who think risking a government shutdown (http://theweek.com/article/index/249809/a-government-shutdown-is-a-high-stakes-game-the-gop-cant-win) over an ill-fated ObamaCare-defunding measure is daft politics.
It's pretty obvious why the second group would be annoyed with Cruz, who has been goading the House GOP to go all-in on the defunding plan for months, including through Cruz-branded TV ads (watch below (http://news.yahoo.com/10-best-insults-republicans-hurled-ted-cruz-week-065500602.html#bottom)). The first group is miffed because, when the House agreed (http://theweek.com/article/index/249869/is-ted-cruz-throwing-the-gop-under-the-bus) to go along with Cruz's high-stakes defund-or-bust plan this week, Cruz issued this statement (http://www.lee.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/press-releases?ID=33efba8e-1ae9-4333-b443-12f077b43ccc):

Today's announcement that the House will vote to defund Obamacare is terrific news.... We commend House leadership and House Republicans for listening to the people and for taking decisive action to stop Obamacare, the biggest job-killer in America. Harry Reid will no doubt try to strip the defund language from the continuing resolution, and right now he likely has the votes to do so. At that point, House Republicans must stand firm, hold their ground, and continue to listen to the American people. [Cruz (http://www.lee.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/press-releases?ID=33efba8e-1ae9-4333-b443-12f077b43ccc)]

This was seen by House Republicans, rightly or wrongly, as Cruz conceding that his own plan — get the GOP-led House to include defunding ObamaCare in the must-pass federal spending bill, then fight like hell to get the Senate on board, propelled by a "tsunami" of grassroots outrage — is doomed, and probably always was. They didn't appreciate the pep talk/kiss-off, and they let him know it, through social and news media.

Also Wednesday, Texas’ senior senator, John Cornyn – the party’s deputy Senate leader — denounced the Senate Conservatives Fund and another tea party group, FreedomWorks, as “a destructive element” that weaken Republicans. The comments drew fierce rebuttals.

“When we are divided, our Democratic colleagues seem to prevail,” he said.

The SCF announced Tuesday that it will spend $330,000 on ads attacking McConnell for cutting a deal with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., to end the 16-day shutdown without stripping funds for the new health care law.

...

Cruz appeared in an SCF ad campaign over the summer calling for defunding of Obamacare as part of any budget deal. The group has issued scathing attacks against more than two dozen Republican senators who refused to back the tactic.

A number of GOP senators confronted Cruz and Lee at a private lunch on Oct. 2 over their work with the Senate Conservatives Fund.

Cruz refused to distance himself at that point.

Cornyn and McConnell met with major GOP donors this weekend at a gathering in Sea Island, Ga.

“There was quite a bit of discussion about the Senate Conservatives Fund and FreedomWorks and other organizations which divide Republicans,” use that division to raise money, and then use those funds to defeat Republicans, Cornyn said.

“They are benefiting from donor confusion about exactly who they are and what their goals are,” Cornyn said.

It’s instructive to remember that when the Tea Party first began to gather steam, the name referred to a “party” in the celebration sense – the Boston Tea Party, specifically: an event of planned chaos, a protest that masqueraded as an Indian attack. Over time, the name has lost its punny puckishness much as the movement has steadily shifted from a proudly anarchical – even populist – response and rebellion within the GOP to a smoothly functioning alternative to it.

The government shutdown (http://www.theguardian.com/world/us-government-shutdown-2013)proved that attempts by the GOP establishment to co-opt the Tea Party as a source of energy just created a network of political sleeper agents (http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/oct/17/us-government-open-shutdown-republicans-democrats). With its own mechanism for drafting (and supporting) candidates, its own agenda, and its own media eco-system, the Tea Party is a third party by almost any criteria but ballot affiliation – and leadership.

The absence of any official organizational structure might be one reason the Tea Party has remained so lively despite a terrible national reputation and negligible policy achievements. When something goes wrong, those identified with the failure fade for a time and the attention of Tea Party-identified voters shifts smoothly to someone else. There’s also no demand for positive policy victories or signature legislation: no one has to win a debate, just spoil the outcome.

...the Senate's presiding officer, Sen. Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin, had to remind these two Republican colleagues that "senators are to refer to each other in the third person and not by name." This quaint rule is to keep the disagreements from getting personal. As the late Sen. Robert Byrd once put it (http://www.senate.gov/artandhistory/history/common/generic/Feature_Homepage_ByrdOrientation.htm): "It is difficult to project the image of a statesmanlike, intelligent, public servant, attempting to inform the public and examine issues, if one is behaving and speaking in a manner more appropriate to a pool room brawl than to United States Senate debate." In keeping with that sense of civility--in which members refer to each other as "my good friend" when they mean "that craven charlatan"--I will characterize my reporting on the views of many of Cruz's Republican colleagues in a similarly circuitous manner: Their affection for him this week became so qualified as to be indistinguishable from hatred. They don't keep Senate records about this kind of thing, but it's likely that no senator has created as many enemies in his party in as short a time as the junior senator from Texas. Sen. Cruz hasn't been content to stop there.

...

Why do Cruz's colleagues hate him? Based on interviews with several Republican senators and the staff of several more, let me count the ways (in no particular order):

Ted Cruz-The Reincarnation Of Joe McCarthy?

For a politician seeking power at any cost, there are few tricks in the handbook more effective than the employment of innuendo, false implication and guilt by association—tricks that were once perfected to devastating effect by Joseph McCarthy, the Wisconsin senator who rose to extraordinary power through his mastery of these dark arts as he led the United States down the path to one of its darkest hours...

...Newly minted Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) would do well to learn the lessons of these predecessors as he embarks on his own public career, one he has apparently chosen to build using the dark political arts of innuendo and smear.

...Senator Cruz has elected to follow the darkest of all political paths in his quest for advancement. And while it is truly a shame and a waste of a very capable man, it is not something that can be allowed by any American, no matter what one’s political preferences.

The sooner the supporters of Senator Cruz recognize the profound difference between opposing a political appointment or opponent and smearing such an individual through lies and innuendo, in the tradition of Joseph McCarthy, the sooner we can put the breaks on Senator Cruz and his misguided desire to repeat the serious and harmful errors in our past.
