I think she needs to do time at a duck farm with close supervision and she should eat duck shit for a week,

Have y'all ever lived around geese?

They are some BAD ASS mo-fo's!

We lived in French Morocco,
and our fatima (maid) took my little brother and I to the local park that had a pond,
and one of the basters ATTACKED him,
biting him just below his eye.

The maid grabbed us up,
RAN back to the house,
and told my mom that "the chicken-for-water, she BITE Jay!"

We have a "pond"/stock tank, that the migrating geese stop at ~

you think you don't mess around with JIM?

You don't even THINK about messing around with geese!

I'd like to kick her in the face myself if it would do any good, but with people like that financial hardship tends to resonate best.

They are not aggressive for no reason at all. You have to understand what triggers the aggression. They're geese. They can be territorial, defensive or hungry. They are what they are. I had one chase me for a hot dog - lol. We can't hold wild animals to human standards. If you don't like them, avoid them.

Kick her hard enough so she'll have to yell AFLACK.

Did any of these courageous nark's actually try to interfere, or ask the lady wtf was she DOING?

<sigh>

Probably not. These days, it's Take A Vid, and REPORT it to the police.

If I had been there, with my child?

I would have at least SHOUTED at her,
and I CERTAINLY would have used it as a "teaching moment" with my child.

I wouldn't have whipped out my cell phone to record it;
I wouldn't have called the cops ~

I would have gone over to her, and TALKED.
(probably about what basters geese are, but it would have distracted her ... )

I didn't watch the vid, but she looks like an older woman,
and she MAY have thought she had a "good excuse."

Did I happen to tell you that I've lived in the country for over 30 years?

And that we've had geese, both wild and tame, almost the entire time?

And while we're talking about it, did she actually manage to make foot contact with any of 'em?

(I didn't watch the vid ~ I'm on satellite, with limited bandwidth)

but, then, them biting my bro in the EYE was pretty ugly, too.

The thing is, though, that life ain't fair,

and people are asshats, sometimes.

I don't think you're going to be able to legislate that little character flaw out of us, you know?

Since animal abuse is already part of most municipal bylaws, I assume that there will be no attempt to make universal legislation. Most people recognize that animal abuse is a red flag for human abuse.

That is one slippery slope, friend ...

We can ALL blame whatever character flaws we'd wish to on some sort of psychological issue,
and then,
we're without blame,

for it was BUSH (roflmao, but you get the idea!) that did it to us/US!

Let me ask you this:

Was this goose rushed to some veterinary clinic for it's massive head trauma,

or did it just GTFO?

If you ask me, that lady taught that goose an important lesson in survival ~

NEVAH trust a human, no matter HOW many bread crumbs they throw your way.

I don't think I've ever disagreed with you but I'm disagreeing now. Her behavior was despicable. Even the young guy had the intelligence to realize that geese can be mean but that all a human has to do is walk away. She openly yelled and taunted them until one of them stretches his neck out toward her then she kicked in the face, then turns around with "did you get that on tape?" Her ass needs to spend some time in the can.

Those Fucker will chase you.

The Geese in Illinois don't take Shit from anyone; that's why I keep a 2 Iron in my bag.

I'm an eye-for-an-eye kinda gal, especially when it's unprovoked cruelty to animals. She should be kicked in the face, with the approximate force she used on the geese.

I had one as a pet until she got older and let her loose in a friends pond. She never attacked and would walk with me. Even when I visited she acted like a puppy and would run to me. Abuse like this makes them attack.

"Abuse" is NOT what makes them act that way ~

their God-given INSTINCT is.

but we do wild animals NO SERVICE by "taming" them,
for it weakens their survival abilities.

 Not mine. I don't know what I do to animals. Raised her from a baby and no don't hate you for this. She did great in the wild and had babies but she trusted me only. Wasn't something I went out and bought, just got stuck with her.

I do it, too, Road,

but it's no nice thing.

I've raised more wild animals that I had to just be an observer to,
making sure that their needs were met,
but NOT allowing them to become desensitized to human contact,
KEEPING their instinctual ... what? suspicions.

They will grow to DEPEND upon us,

but that isn't any sort of "love."

For the egregious crimes committed?

Just inform her she is a bitch and call it a day. Social shaming and economic pressure would be sufficient I think, her employer if she has one could fire her in a perfect world.

But seriously, criminal charges? Investigations over a goose kicking?

Meanwhile robbery, burglary, and assault happen elsewhere - to human beings. This shit is retarded. The fact that they are investigating this is a waste of resources.

Stop using money and resources on drug "crimes," allocate resources to said human crimes, use whatever is left over for this sort of stuff.

Problem solved.

I agree entirely. Perhaps she has a mental disorder of some sort, or is off her meds. Most ignorant people are not that ignorant.

Or have the pond privatized and the geese owned by somebody - then they could press criminal charges legitimately for vandalism of property.

I'd be down with that.

In that case, the charges for attacking someones animals should be greater than merely vandalism.
