The news media rarely gives the entire story from the beginning. We don't know what happened. We can assume and many times that assumption is correct. However we don't know and until ALL the facts come out I am withholding judgement one way or the other.

According to the latest information the victim had an alcohol level of twice the legal limit plus marijuana was found in her blood. So, this does change the story just a bit does it not? Perhaps she was incoherent and aggressive and was demanding to be let into the house. I don't know since I was not there. All I know is all the defense needs is an issue that creates "reasonable doubt" (and of course that justice is actually done and this is not resolved on political grounds). I do think this latest information should at the very least cause a thinking person to look deeper into what may have happened.

All of the evidence is not in yet and we will never hear all of it unless we are in the courtroom. We should at least wait until we know more before we lynch the white man

What I am having a problem with is why was she seeking help at this house 6 blocks away and 2 hours after the crash? It was said that she crashed into a unoccupied car and someone called 911 for her. Being 19 and drinking is already against the law, she was dangerous to others but didn't stay at the accident scene for help. Was she trying to get into a house to not confront the police or be arrested? Could have been desperate trying to evade the law. 2 hours is a long time drunk, high and bleeding and the police had already went to her car once looking for her. Why 6 blocks away? I find that people who are over the limit to be more aggressive especially running from the law. Something's not right with this story and the facts need to come out.

It may be that he wasn't lying about it going off accidentally, but in the heat of the moment he pulled the trigger without thinking about it, and thus doesn't recall it as anything but accidental. Fear has a way of impairing our judgement.

Theodore Wafer who shot Renisha McBride on November 2, 2013, when she knocked on his door after a car crash where it was determined that she had been drinking ... and charged with second-degree murder, manslaughter and weapons felony firearms ... was found guilty on all counts.

The trial drew comparisons to the George Zimmerman-Trayvon Martin case because Wafer is white and McBride was black, but the subject of race was rarely breached in the courtroom.
Wafers defense lawyer said Wednesday that her client was far from a racist, and he didn't know the race of the person he shot.

When asked if he thought race played a part, Simmons said, "I'm not going to say that, that could have been anybody's kid.”

Wafer will be sentenced on August 21.

He faces life in prison with the possibility of parole.

Very, very bad shoot. He is guilty. That young woman, tipsy or not was no threat to him. He shot her probably because she was Black and acting erratically. All he had to do if truly scared was shut the door and call police.

Too sad all around.
