Among the GOP's myriad criticisms of the Affordable Care Act, one of the loudest has centered around the law's price tag. But it turns out Obamacare won't be as costly as expected.

The New York Times reported Tuesday that "the government is expected to spend billions of dollars less than originally projected on the law."

The adjusted estimate is a result of the law's Medicaid expansion and the subsidies for private insurance plans proving less costly than initially anticipated. According to the Times, economists say that the law has also benefitted from a weak economy over the last half-decade, during which time health spending has slowed dramatically.

Roughly 100,000 people signed up for insurance last month using the troubled online federal health exchange HealthCare.gov.

She also has the dead and illegal vote. But, that just goes with being a democrat.

Still, if it weren't for the dead vote, those four she left to die in Benghazi would never vote for her.

Votes should be restricted to one per person and only those who are US citizens. Why do you have a problem with that?

Oh, that's right. Your obama wouldn't be in office if we did that in every state.

Where is The GOP DATA that back up their claim of widespread Voter Fraud?

It's Bull Shit and everyone knows it.

That's why people still waited in line to Vote several hours after President Obama was already announced re-elected, just stick it up the ass of Republicans and run up the score.

(MoneyWatch) Wondering what's going to happen to your health insurance premiums under Obamacare (http://www.cbsnews.com/news/premiums-on-obamacare-marketplaces-beat-expectations-report-shows)?

New research from the Manhattan Institute estimates that insurance rates for young men will rise by 99 percent. Rates for younger women will rise between 55 percent to 62 percent, according to the right-leaning New York think tank.

CBS Evening News Obamacare premium costs vary from state to state, city to city The rates of health insurance premiums purchased on new state exchanges will depend on your location. Don Dahler reports on how rates are lower i...

The precise impact of the new health law is likely to vary markedly from state-to-state, however. That's largely because different states have had different requirements for what had to be included in health insurance policies in the past. The Affordable Care Act, commonly known as Obamacare, overrides these rules and sets a federal overlay that demands a wide array of mandatory coverages. The Manhattan Institute has drawn up an interactive map (http://www.manhattan-institute.org/knowyourrates/) that may help forecast the rise in cost for individuals (http://www.forbes.com/sites/theapothecary/2013/09/04/interactive-map-in-13-states-plus-d-c-individual-health-premiums-will-increase-by-an-average-of-24/).
These differences mean men will get hammered in North Carolina with an average 305 percent rate hike, while women will suffer in Nebraska, paying an average of 237 percent more. For most people, subsidies in the law will not counteract the rate shock, says co-author of the study Avik Roy, a health care expert and senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute.

CBS This Morning Healthwatch Gov't releases info on health exchanges The government released price estimates of health insurance under the new Affordable Care Act. Charlie Rose reports.

"You hear all these excuses from the [Obama] administration -- that people are exaggerating the effect of the law," he says. "But real people are getting notices from their insurers now. My blog is flooded with comments from people saying that they just got a huge premium hike."
The Department of Health and Human Services put out a press release this week forecasting that Obamacare premiums would be 16 percent less than projected. However, the projected costs were estimates that attempted to project the cost of a policy in 2016. Consumers are receiving the real costs in notices from their insurers now only a few weeks before the law is set to go into effect. For healthy consumers who have existing policies, many of the premium hikes are proving massive.

Additionally, the promise that you could keep your old policy, if you liked it, has proved illusory. My insurer, Kaiser Permanente, informed me in a glossy booklet that "At midnight on December 31, we will discontinue your current plan because it will not meet the requirements of the Affordable Care Act." My premium, the letter added, would go from $209 a month to $348, a 66.5 percent increase that will cost $1,668 annually.

Yeah for Obamacare. My brother in law just signed up for it and his premiums went from a high of $167.50 a month down to $645.00 per month!!

Lets hear it for the savings from Obamacare.

YEA YEA YEA

OH, yes the government will subsidize part of those premiums, by giving him a tax credit at the end of the year. In the meantime he has paid in $7740.00 in premiums.

One million new visits to Obamacare website Monday: White House (http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/12/03/us-usa-healthcare-obama-idUSBRE9B204K20131203)

(Reuters) - President Barack Obama's chief of staff said on Tuesday that more than 1 million new visitors had checked out the HealthCare.gov website on Monday, the first day after a major overhaul of the troubled site used to shop for health insurance required under new reforms.

White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough said the website's new queuing system, used in times of high traffic, worked "pretty well," with 13,000 visitors choosing to receive an email to return later on Monday when there was less traffic, and half of that group accepting that invitation.

"No matter what, we're going to see this thing through," said McDonough, who spoke to a forum organized by Georgetown University and law firm Arent Fox.

1.5 Million enrolled in medicaid since October launch of ACA
http://a4.img.talkingpointsmemo.com/image/upload/c_fill,fl_keep_iptc,g_faces,h_365,w_652/obama-health-care--5.jpg

Nearly 1.5 million Americans have enrolled in Medicaid or the Children's Health Insurance Program since the state Obamacare marketplaces went live on Oct. 1, according to a new report released Tuesday.

The report from the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services is the most comprehensive look yet at how the low-income public insurance programs are faring under the health care reform law. It covers the month of October, and CMS said that more reports would be released on a monthly basis.

The total includes both those who are newly eligible for Medicaid in states that expanded the program and those in all states who were already eligible. They were funneled to the program both through the state-based insurance marketplaces that have opened under Obamacare and other sources (applying through local government offices, etc.).
Coverage for those newly eligible under the Medicaid expansion starts on Jan. 1, 2014.

It does not, however, include those deemed eligible through HealthCare.gov, which is serving 36 states. According to CMS, the automatic transfer of applications from the federal website to state Medicaid agencies is not yet fully functional, so those numbers haven't been finalized. In the administration's last enrollment report (http://talkingpointsmemo.com/dc/obamacare-enrollment-numbers), it said that 183,000 people in states using HealthCare.gov had been found eligible for Medicaid.

The number is also likely to go up. Major states like Ohio and Texas, where enrollment had not been finalized, were not included in the final tally.
