Merry Christmas to "military brats" the world over. Having been a military brat; I can tell you that nothing, NOTHING is better than Daddy (or in some cases these days, Mommy) coming home!

I'm so sorry, Alyosha.....I just liked the video and wasn't thinking how it might affect you when I posted it. Big hug for you, hon....

No, no, no...I love those things, too. I do remember a couple of homecomings myself. I remember running across the gym as fast as I could. Beautiful days.

And you're right, seeing your dad or spouse even in their digis is priceless.

True story, the dog seemed to "know". He didn't want the dog (small yippy dog) but it became his dog. The morning I went to pick him up the dog was racing all over the house like it knew he was coming home and by the time we got back it had eaten the welcome mat.

This stuff always puts a smile on my face, and a lump in my throat.

You're so sweet. You know, countryboy last year at this time I know you and I talked because we were both in a bad spot, but God decided in His infinite wisdom not to replace the marine I lost, but to augment it with a whole squad of them!
Ethereal and Codename Section and even The Wash have certainly added some spice to my life this year and certainly brought me back to the world of the living. :)

He ATE the welcome mat? Oh, my......that's some real, not-able-to-contain-yourself LOVE.

Marines are the BEST! And "Alyosha's Angels" are the best of the best!

You know, I did wonder if my husband didn't send them to me. I found them in strange places. I probably would never have shared or opened up had it not been to someone who was a marine.

I am in a much mentally/emotionally happier place than last year--now if the body can catch up!

I daresay he did, Alyosha. Stranger things have happened....and I do believe those souls that love us, intercede for us as much as they can. I've been seeing my mother out of the corner of my eye (she passed 8 years ago) a couple of times a day for the last few days....and I think she's just checking to make sure I'm OK.

I believe it. I believe it.

I got an "email" from him after he died. He told a friend to send it if something happened to him when the time was right. It gave me permission to date again. He even thought it would be another marine, oddly.

But that's what type of guy he was. Just good to his core. Really, Captain America. I was blessed, so blessed to have him in my life, if only for a little while.

You know, I really thought he was exceptional--but my "boys"...they're exceptional, too. Real heroes both of them...tho they're crankier about it...and bitch more...and are more "fighty boys"...and curse a lot more...but they're heroes, too, although neither of them would say so.

And what's really cool? You will be with him again. I truly believe that.
