More than half of the counties in 34 states using the federal health insurance exchange lack even a bronze plan that's affordable — by the government's own definition — for 40-year-old couples who make just a little too much for financial assistance, a USA TODAY analysis shows.
*****

The USA TODAY analysis looked at whether premiums for the least expensive plan in any of the metal levels was more than 8% of household income. That's similar to the affordability test used by the federal government to determine whether premiums are so expensive consumers aren't required to buy plans under the Affordable Care Act.

The number of people who earn close to the subsidy cutoff and are priced out of affordable coverage may be a small slice of the estimated 4.4 million people buying their own insurance and ineligible for subsidies. But the analysis clearly shows how the sticker shock hitting many in the middle class, including the self-employed and early retirees, isn't just a perception problem. The lack of counties with affordable plans means many middle-class people will either opt out of insurance or pay too much to buy it.

Some of these plans are simply silly. They have very high deductibles like the old catastrophic plans, except they also have high monthly costs. Most people won't ever use this type of insurance (expend their deductible) but they will pay as much as or more than if they had a traditional policy.

How could ANYONE not have known that, going in?

Call me a conspiracy theorist, but they HAD to know ~ they just tried to bury it, in a mountain of words, imho.

But the REST of us/US? WTF is our "excuse" for NOT raising the ROOF, when it first happened,
and letting the rickety walls fall in upon themselves?

What was it?
A week after the printed edition was released,
that we were hearing the realistic/doom and gloom commentary on it?

We sort of suck ...

But, according to our "friends" on the left, we were nothing but fearmongers. As Pelosi just recently said "Obamacare will be GLORIOUS! Hallelujah!"

When you think about it, It is dong everything that the left want?

They are betting that the middle class and working poor will blame the republicans, this is why they keep moving so desperately to have the republicans do something to support the law. they need them involved in some manor.

Then hey blame them for the failure and move to single payer to rescue the system!

What they re faced with, AND THEY KNOW THAT AND ARE FEARFUL is that the public Is not blaming the republicans. AND WORSE YET THEY SPOTED THE HIDDEN AGANDA!

The ACA takes from young healthy working class that are starting to think about families and homes and distributes that money in the form of free healthcare to the major voting block of the DNC, those totally dependent on the Government!

The ACA takes procedures, tests and the news and best drugs off the table for Seniors! This will lead to a shortened life span, and democrats know that this is crucial as they are no longer contributing to the tax base. This will greatly reduce the cost of SS and Medicare leaving more money to spend on those Dependent on the system.

This totally primes the pump for the socialism that they desire. Taxes will continue to rise, the elderly will stop living as long, more and more business will off shore to avoid high taxations and benefit costs. and more and more people will become dependent. They (democrats) will keep playing the race and class warfare gams until those that are dependent take most of the wealth that has been earned by those willing to work for it! They will do this by violence if necessary,

Then after the confiscation of wealth, the only thing left is to terminate the poor living on the system and they will have set themselves up as the rulers that they are entitled to be, and will have there new crop of slaves those worker bees that were still working and trying to make ends meet.

Liberal utopia!
