Multiple reports this morning indicate that serious negotiations have begun between the two parties over how to pay for an extension of unemployment insurance. Many Republicans are now professing openness to the general idea of extending this lifeline — having moved away from their ideological objections to it — and are now claiming concern over how to pay for it.

Finally just maybe the real republican party will reject the far right extremists and get this country back moving again. For nothing gets done unless its a two way street.
I think alot of republicans are having guilty feelings knowing theyve been shafting everyday americans for the last two years. Plus it dawned on them that they cant elected acting like an AHole like Ted Cruz, hes been oddly quiet of late hasnt he.

Yeah, that concept went out the window when the democrats held the majority.
Even now they wont allow any of the 50 republican jobs bills to come to a vote in the senate.

Could you tell us how extending the unemployment roles for the umpteen time has created more jobs and has boosted the economy as a Nancy Pelosi and as an Obama have suggested it has? How in your words (not Obama's or ms Pelosi's words) would this proposed unemployment extension get this country back moving again? C-mon lets hear the details. Last time I checked there are still 91 million adults in America without a job while Obama has been president and while he keeps extending this unemployment time line.

GOP has another chance to declare independence from Tea Party

They're not dependent to begin with. The Tea Parties are pretty much anti-establishment Republican.

Hilarious. Why don't they join the Democratic Party and just name it the Progressive Party? It would be more honest. :)

That concept was never part of the design of the government with it's opposing branches and parties. It was designed for contention to limit its power.

Because Obama's maladminstration has succeeded so admirably in destroying millions of good jobs and driving millions from the work force, all the while enriching the one percent to an unprecedented degree, it is now necessary to turn the unemployment programs into another welfare scheme, funded with printed money.

Among other things, this goes to show you just how badly this administration of pathological liars has cooked the unemployment numbers.

We see in the news this morning that poverty in America has returned to the level seen before the "Great Society."

All of this accomplishment of which Common is obviously quite proud.

Damn, I agree with Jillian. Dancing around and chanting, "I won, I won, I won," is not an adult negotiating strategy. President Barack "non-negotiable" Obama is fortunate to have the press covering for him. And we're fortunate to have socialists, communists, and progressives stooping to give us lowly conservatives advice.

And just imagine, the liberals are now claiming that how things get paid for isn't a concern. Liberals have only two ways: print more money and raise taxes.

I think we should adopt FDR's policy for those on the dole over 26 weeks they can pick up trash on the side of the road,, shovel sidewalks sweep streets and parking lots

Those that are educated could tutor kids in schools, give them 3 days of week 12 hour days of work and they can look for work for three days, and have Sunday off?

this way they get there lifeline and they make society better in the process?

What do you want to bet that there would be No one on unemployment for 2 years?

WOW! You accidentally said something that made sense.
You are right, though. When your obama said that the republicans had to 'sit in the back seat', we knew bipartisanship was thrown out the window.

And the Democrats always have an opportunity to reject communism but...no one would believe them.

Ted Cruz and AHole? You lost me. Not a Tea Partier myself, but not one that believes the Tea Party has impeded the country. Ted Cruz was right about Obamas biggest piece of legislation, he stood up and was counted. You know what you can count on unlike the drones you are praising? He has a core and will stand up instead of being a wimp that hides his real opinions. Give me a guy that isn't a wishy washy liar like most of these guys, at least I know where he stands.

BTW if standing up against the overspending and lack of accountability makes me an Ahole, what does it make you for going along?
